Ira Dean Joins Average Joe’s Entertainment

Average Joe’s Entertainment is delighted to announce the addition of Ira Dean, former member of country trio Trick Pony, to its’ roster.

“Ira is a true triple threat: he’s a hit songwriter, a great singer and a true entertainer! We are thrilled to welcome him to Average Joe’s,” said Tom Baldrica, President of Average Joe’s Entertainment.

Chart-topping hits written by Dean such as “Pour Me,” and the Grammy nominated “Just What I Do,” established him, not only as Trick Pony’s “Wildman” with headlights in his chrome bass, but as a brand new singer/songwriting force and studio musician in country music. The trio won the American Music Awards’ “Top New Artist” and the Country Music Association’s “Artist of the Year” award and released three studio albums producing four top twenty singles on Billboard Hot Country. Their second CD, On A Mission, which Ira co-wrote seven cuts, brought in an additional five Academy of Country Music nominations including, “Album of the Year” and “Vocal Group of the Year.”

In 2008, Dean departed Trick Pony, and has since been busy writing songs for other artists including Joe Nichols, Chris Young, ex-band mate Heidi Newfield, Jake Owen, Gary Allan, and Montgomery Gentry, including their big hit “One In Every Crowd.” He also has the writing credits on the title track for Trace Adkins’ album due out August 2, Proud To Be Here.

Now Dean is focusing on his solo career and is thrilled to be joining the Average Joe’s family,

“I’m very excited to be working with Tom Baldrica and Average Joe’s and to be label mates with my good friends Colt Fort and Montgomery Gentry.” Dean’s self-titled solo debut CD is set to be released by Average Joe’s Entertainment in late 2011. Ira Dean hints that the music on his solo debut is “a mixture of alcohol and testosterone-driven songs. My buddy Bobby Pinson has tagged it as ‘testostahol’.”

Recently, radio picked up on the album cut “Beer or Gasoline” which was written by Dean and previously recorded by Chris Young. However, the first official single, “Something About A Sunday”, will be going for adds in September. Please visit www.iradean.com for further information.

Hank Williams Jr. Brings Out His Rowdy Friends for Popcorn Sutton’s Tennessee White Whiskey Launch

Hank Williams Jr,’s stellar collection of rowdy friends reads like a music business “who’s who” of famous faces – many of them on hand last night to raise a glass to Hank’s personal launch of Popcorn Sutton’s Tennessee White Whiskey.

That “smooth going down” taste is courtesy of the secret recipe blend of the late immortalized legend of Marvin “Popcorn” Sutton – forever enshrined by his death last year as the last of a dying breed of authentic mountain men and makers of marvelous moonshine.

Keeping “Popcorn’s” legend alive will be entrusted to Hank Jr. – a man who appreciates good liquor and respects the free spirited souls of mountain men. Hank Jr. is a business partner (not a paid endorsee) with J&M Concepts and Pam Sutton.

Hank’s friends on hand to celebrate the launch included Kid Rock, Martina McBride, Zac Brown, Colt Ford, Travis Tritt, Eddie Montgomery, Josh Thompson, Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser, Tanya Tucker, Lee Brice, Rodney Atkins, the Kentucky Headhunters, Little Big Town, The Grascals, The Roys, Little Texas, Two Foot Fred, Ira Dean and Heidi Newfield.

The new whiskey will begin in Middle Tennessee and move local bars and retail to region availability. It has a “limited edition” quality in that each batch is made by hand.

Ironic in view of its original origins with Popcorn Sutton’s life outside the reach of “the law” the brand will be the first “white whiskey” to be approved by the federal government.

Although Hank never had the privilege of shaking Popcorn Sutton’s hand in real life he attended his memorial service on October 24, 2009, in Danridge, Tennessee near Knoxville. He was admirer of the legendary moonshine runner.

“He was the last of the real mountain moonshiners that went back,” noted Hank.
“Popcorn was part of the real ‘Thunder Road’ legend, and that is a real part of country music history.”
