Rascal Flatts Rein as Top Group in Country Music

Rascal Flatts continue their reign as the biggest group in country music. According to Nielsen Soundscan the band’s latest CD, Unstoppable, is one of only three country albums that have scanned platinum in 2009, including Taylor Swift’s Fearless and Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack, with year-to-date sales of over 1 million albums sold on each title.

Of all country titles released this year, Rascal Flatts’s Unstoppable holds the record for the biggest first week sales with 351,000 units sold. Unstoppable also has the fifth highest debut sales numbers across all genres for all new CD releases this year. Included in the first week numbers are more than 58,000 digital albums, giving Rascal Flatts the biggest first week digital album sales for any country title released this year.

With 126,000 tracks sold the first week of release, the project’s lead #1 single “Here Comes Goodbye,” also holds the record for the biggest first week sales for any country digital single in the history of Nielsen Soundscan.

Rascal Flatts always say they have the best fans and I think this proves it!

Tawny, you can keep saying they “don’t suck” but Rascal Flatts are so way beyond not sucking it’s not even funny.  I understand you might not like the music but I am glad that so many other fans have a great appreciation for the music they make.  It’s keeping my boys on top!

Miley Cyrus Is Giving Advice to Teens

OMG!  Hide your teenagers, cover their ears – tell them to put their iPods in so they don’t hear this!

Miley Cyrus has some advice for teens who can’t decide whether to pursue their acting dream or go to college. She says “do it. Be a freak. Go to Hollywood.” She also admits that she says whatever pops into her head. (ummm, no kidding!)

The guy who plays her brother on the “Hannah Montana” TV show and in the upcoming movie, Jason Earles, says Miley “doesn’t really have a filter.” But he means it as a good thing, because he says “there’s not a lot of pretense there.”

Whatever, no 16 year old has a filter and it is apparent that just about everyone else in the world but me has forgotten that she is ONLY 16.  I just don’t understand why everyone seems to think she is so mature and “older” than she really is.  Can someone please explain this to me?

Rascal Flatts Fix

I have to get my Rascal Flatts fix in before bedtime.   Here is what I dug up in the last five minutes;

Did you know that headlining acts give their opening acts a gift at the end of the tour to say “Thank You”.  Wanna know what you get if you open for Rascal Flatts?  Apparently, a car – or in Jason Aldean’s case a golf cart.  Word is that the guys gave Taylor Swift a Porsche and Blake Shelton a Jeep. Poor Jason settled for a golf cart.  I would have personally preferred the Porsche.

Interview clip from 4th of July: I know it’s old but i’m tired.

I am still a little confused why Rascal Flatts decided to do the Hanna Montana movie but I will watch it just so see them. (Note to self: Fast forward until you see Rascal Flatts, then turn off movie immediately) Here is a promo for the movie – I am only posting it because Rascal Flatts is in it.

Alright, got my fix.  Heading to bed.
