According to the Herald Sun, Oscar winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow is going to pursue a music career. The Country Strong acctress has tested out her pipes in various movie roles, but is taking the hobby to a whole new level. Gwyneth has signed a $900,000 deal with Atlantic Records. The country-pop album is due to release later this year.

If “Coming Home” wins the Oscar for original song this Sunday, it would be the second year that Oscar goes country. “The Weary Kind” from “Crazy Heart” won as best original song last year. Gwyneth Paltrow will be singing “Coming Home” at the Oscars, just like she sang it in the movie, “Country Strong.” It’s up against three other songs: “I See The Light” from the film “Tangled,” “If I Rise,” from the film “127 Hours” and “We Belong Together” from the animated movie “Toy Story 3.”
