Jake Owen’s Twitter Party in Nashville

Jake Owen took to his Twitter page again yesterday and this time it was for his peeps in Nashville! He teased us with messages that said:

  • Impromptu acoustic jam tonight in Nashville.. It will be like old times. Me,.. My buddies. Great songs. Good times. Come party!
  • Wow… Looks like I sparked some interest. So “if” I was playing at a quaint pub in Nashville,… Who’s coming? ;)
  • Alley Pub Bellevue… 830-?? Bring it

I couldn’t pass up the chance to see Jake Owen live so I threw myself together got a few friends and headed out to Alley Pub.  Finding the place was a bit of a problem when Hilda (my GPS – yes I named my GPS) kept redirecting us around different parts of Nashville but thankfully we got there before he started playing. Jake was there when we got there a little past 8:30.  He looked so cute and laid back in his baseball cap.  Then he disappeared to fix his hair and change!  LOL – it made us giggle that he left to do his hair.

Jake really knows how to throw a party.  Much to our great surprise Jake brought a few of his friends; Lee Brice, Danielle Peck and Eric Durrance

There was NO set list for the night.  Jake and his friends played everything from “Don’t Think I Can’t Love You” to Prince’s “Purple Rain”.  The entire night was filled with a packed crowd who sang along and had a great time.

We met a Jake fan, Theresa, who drove three hours just for the “Twitter Party”.  She was front and center for the whole show!  Jake also mentioned that some of the people in the crowd drove down from Louisville, KY!

Jake doesn’t disapoint his fans.  This is the second time I have had the pleasure to talk to him and he remembered CMTT from CRS week, thanked us for our support and took the time to even buy us drinks and take pictures. Tawny stayed home to babysit our kids and Jake even took the time to sign an autograph for her since she wasn’t able to come.

If you have not had the pleasure to see Jake live or even hear his music PLEASE go out and buy his record “Easy Does It”.  Jake is someone who takes care of his fans and is making it fun for us to love him.

On a sidenote -

Lee Brice!  I LOVE Lee Brice! If you don’t know who he is check out his website.  He is an amazing song writer.  He helped write Garth Brooks’ “More Than a Memory” and has also helped write some of Adam Gregory’s songs – “Crazy Days” and “What It Takes”.

A few of his songs that you should know are: She ain’t Right and Upper Middle Class White Trash.   He is a teddy bear who has a great personality.  He’s someone you just want to kick back and have a few beers with.  Check him out

All of the pictures and a video from the performance are on our Flickr page

Eric Durrance is Getting Hot! Watch Out

Newcomer Eric Durrance is making his way into the country spotlight and fans are eating him up.  Most recently he signed an endorsement agreement with Dean Markley Strings, Santa Clara, CA. Joining world-class country music artists like Garth Brooks, George Strait, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Emerson Drive and tour mates Lady Antebellum and Jason Aldean (all of whom endorse Dean Markley products),

This is Eric’s first endorsement since his entry into the country music arena with his CD entitled “Angels Fly Away”.   Watch for more from Eric in December when he will be featured in CMA Close-up Magazine and Country Weekly’s “Who’s New”.

CMT Tour – Lady Antebellum is Awesome!!!!

Sorry it took me all day to get to our CMT Tour concert review posted.  I wanted to make sure that I didn’t have any distractions when writing it!

All I can say is if this tour comes anywhere near you – you MUST go see it.  It was an amazing night last night.

We had a meet and greet with Lady Antebellum.  They are so friendly and talkative.  I will say that the guy taking the pictures kept the line moving very quickly.  It was one of the quickest Meet and Greets that I have ever had but it was still worth it.  While Dave was singing my CD Hilary stuck out her hand to shake mine and I gave her a hug instead and said congratulations!  LOL  Then I went for my big bear hug from Charles.  I hung on as long as I possible could but Dave said “hey – you gonna leave me out?”  So I couldn’t resist and went and gave him a  hug to.  Then they took the picture and it was over.  But again, very well worth it.

After the meet and greet we went to sit in our seats.  We were about 15 rows back on the floor.  Eric Durrance came out first.  I was not familiar with any of his songs but watch out for him.  He rocked it.  I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot more from him.  After his set he was walking around and we asked him if we could grab a picture with him.  His “people” said no and he said yes.  He just made us do it very quickly so he didn’t get in any more trouble.  I love it when artists take special care of their fans.  It really makes a difference.  Horrible angle for me in the picture but I want everyone to know who Eric Durrance is – look him up.  He’s good stuff.

After Eric Durrance was finished there was a very short stage and instrument change and with no introduction at all Lady Antebellum was on the stage tearing it up!  This was my first time to see the entire group together live (I have seen Charles sing solo twice now).  Let me tell you all – they sound amazing live!  Just like the CD that stays in my car.  They sang just about every song on their CD and we loved every minute of it.  I was actually sad when they left the stage.  (Thanks to my friend Mandy for the live concert pictures.  She was in the front row and had a great view)

Now please, Jason Aldean fans please do NOT get mad at me for this next section of the review.  I have seen Jason 4 times in concert before when he was opening act for Rascal Flatts.  I think he is an amazing performer and rocks the house down.  Last night though, I was not feeling it.  I don’t know what it was.  He sounded good and had high energy but I was just not as into him as I normally was.  It may have been the wall of frat boys directly in front of us that blocked our view from every angle.

Because we were not fully into the Jason Aldean set we decided to head up to the Lady A merchandise table to get in line.  Here is another reason that I am falling in love with Lady A.  After the concert they stayed and signed autographs for every single last fan that wanted to meet them.

We found out some excellent news from one of Lady Antebellum’s people, Adam but we can’t share it just yet.  Just know that Country Music Tattle Tale and Lady Antebellum have something special in common.

I found out later from our friend Heather that Eric Durrance was just around the corner signing autographs for everyone as well but unfortunately we didn’t know that and left.

Overall, the concert was amazing!!!!!  High energy and great entertainment.  I am looking forward to the day that Lady Antebellum headlines their very own tour.

We have more pictures on our MySpace page
