Craig Morgan’s Career Taking-Off In Different Directions

Craig Morgan has had a long and steadily successful career in Country Music. He’s a Grand Ole Opry member, USO Merit Award recipient, and has completed 9 trips over seas to entertain our troops abroad. But, now Craig’s career is taking off again, this time in several different directions. Not only is his current single from his upcoming album of the same name, “This Ole Boy,” climbing the charts, but his hunting show, Craig Morgan, All Access Outdoors has earned him two Golden Moose Awards and is entering it’s second season. Craig also will try his hand at acting during an upcoming episode of Army Wives. We spoke about all of this and more early last week. Take a listen.

Craig Morgan Receives Two Golden Moose Awards

Outdoor Channel, America’s Leader In Outdoor TV, unveiled the winners for its 12th Annual Golden Moose Awards, the most popular and longstanding outdoor television awards ceremony in the country, last night from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Country star Craig Morgan was among the honorees, winning awards for Best Turkey and Best Deer for his hit television series “Craig Morgan: All Access Outdoors.” Taking place during the Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade Show (SHOT Show), the Golden Moose Awards honor the producers and on-air talent from Outdoor Channel’s industry-leading programming.

“I cannot tell you what an honor it is to get recognition for the show, “ says Morgan. “Along with being so much fun to create it’s also a lot of hard work. For the industry to acknowledge our show is an amazing feeling.”

Outdoor Channel plans to broadcast the 2012′s Golden Moose Awards on the network as a special in February.

Craig Morgan Releases New Video for “This Ole Boy”

Craig Morgan is preparing to release his sixth studio album, This Ole Boy, on February 28th. The release marks Morgan’s first new music in nearly three years, and his first with Black River Entertainment after signing with the label in April 2011.

Actress Angie Harmon stars alongside Morgan in the sweet and surprising music video clip for the title track lead single. The video, directed by Kristin Barlowe, was filmed in Arrington, Tennessee late last year. Entertainment Tonight will exclusively premiere the music video TODAY at ETOnline.com. The video can be seen on various TV and online platforms in the coming days, and will be available for digital download later this month.

Take a city girl and put her in the mix of country, and you will have Lauren Briant. She has one of the biggest voices in country music today. She signed with Average Joe’s Entertainment (Montgomery Gentry, Colt Ford, Josh Gracin) in 2009 and went to work writing and recording with Nashville notables Noah Gordon (Tim McGraw, Craig Morgan, John Michael Montgomery), Philip Douglas (Lonestar, Tracy Lawrence, Billy Ray Cyrus), Dan Murph (Randy Travis, Bucky Covington), as well as country artist Colt Ford (Jason Aldean, Brantley Gilbert). She co-wrote 8 of 14 songs off her debut album Lauren Briant that is available now on iTunes.

In 2010, Lauren took part in a collaborative album entitled Muddigger. It has sold over 25,000 copies to date and also features Colt Ford, Brantley Gilbert, The Lacs, Matt Stillwell, among others. With over 3 million plays on myspace.com, Lauren is on her way to super stardom!  Her current single “Who I Am With You” is at radio now.

Q:  Where is the one place you could spend hours and be happy?
A:  Ask anyone who knows me and they would all say Disneyland.

Q:  Beer or Liquor?
A:  Niether. I don’t drink.

Q:  Last person you talked to on the phone?
A:  One of my best friends who’s name is also Lauren. We’re on a last name basis to avoid confusion.

Q:  Favorite TV Show?
A:  I am loving Once Upon a Time right now. It’s right up my alley.

Q:  What is your favorite thing to spend money on?
A:  McDonald’s ice cream cones.

Q:  If you hadn’t made it as a singer/songwriter, what would you likely be doing for a living?
A:  I’m not sure if it’s very realistic but I’d love to be a chef on a Food Network cooking show.

Q:  If your life was a song, what would the title be?
A:  Don’t Worry. Be Happy.

Q:  If you could have any super power what would it be?
A:  Flying. I mean who wouldn’t want to fly?

Q:  Do you have a pre-concert ritual?
A:  I always say a prayer before I go on stage. That and a hair toss.

Q:  What was the last thing that made you laugh?
A:  I  just watched Modern Family. Hilarious.
