Country Weekly Offers Behind-the-Scenes Look at Thompson Square’s New Video

Thompson Square’s new video for their single “I Got You” made its world premiere last weekend as part of the CMT Big New Music Weekend. For an exclusive behind the scenes look, fans can pick up the May 2nd Issue of Country Weekly (on stands now) or visit www.countryweekly.com

“When Keifer was writing the song, ‘I Got You,’ it reminded us of the Sonny & Cher’s ‘I Got You Babe,’ says Shawna Thompson. “We thought that if we ever got the chance to do a video on this song, it would be cool to do a sort of spoof on the whole variety-show thing.”

Keifer Thompson recalls, “We brought our video concept to Wes Edwards and he made sense of it all, plus he enhanced the idea a little further. I hope everyone will like it as much as we do!”

“I Got You” was written by Keifer Thompson, Shawna Thompson, Jason Sellers and Paul Jenkins. The song and album were produced by NV. The new single has already shipped to radio and will go for adds on May 9th.

Country Weekly Gets Hot with Country Men

Fresh off three straight No. 1 singles, country music star Chris Young has been voted 2011’s Hottest Bachelor by the readers of Country Weekly. This year’s honor marks the second time in the past three years that the 25-year-old Tennessean has topped the Country Weekly tally.

“Chris is a Country Weekly fan favorite and our readers told us in no uncertain terms that he’s their Hottest Bachelor,” says Editor in Chief Lisa Konicki, before adding her own personal opinion of Chris: “Who can resist that face?”

Chris is equally enthusiastic. “What can I say, country fans are the best!” he enthuses. “It’s thrilling to get any type of recognition and this one is even more fun since it comes directly from the fans. And thank you Country Weekly readers!”

Having just returned from his second visit to entertain U.S. troops stationed overseas, Chris is currently on the road headlining his own shows before joining Jason Aldean on tour in July. His new album NEON will release this summer.

For the complete list of Hottest Bachelors, check out the May 2 issue of Country Weekly, on newsstands now.

Country Weekly Gives Charlie Pride ‘Up to Bat’

Country Music Hall of Famer and Texas Rangers owner Charley Pride is teaming up with Country Weekly to give away autographed baseballs. Pride has a stronger tie to baseball than most of his music fans might think. In 1953, Pride was signed to the New York
Yankees farm team where he was known for his fastball. He went on to become a Negro American League All-Star for the Memphis Red Sox. A career-ending injury forced Pride to hang up his glove, and thus began his GRAMMYAward-winning music career. But his love for the game has never faded, and in 2010 Pride became part owner of the Texas Rangers.

Pride recently released his first studio album in five years, Choices, on March 8th.
