Nashville may be headed to CMT for season 5, but not everyone will be returning. Luke Wheeler and Layla Grant will be worked out of the music industry drama. Will Chase and Aubrey Peeples will be moving onto other things, instead of stirring up drama in Nashville.

No word how their exits will be worked into the script. Will is said to be headed back to Broadway to continue with his theater career.

COLE SWINDELL’S DOWN HOME TOUR Presented by CMT ON TOUR will kick off late this Fall in tandem with the release of his Down Home Sessions III EP. The partnership marks the 15th annual tour for CMT, which has been a springboard for a number of country superstars. The tour was announced yesterday live as Swindell presented at the “2016 CMT Music Awards.”

Swindell, who has a record-breaking five consecutive No. 1 singles (first four being off his self-titled debut album) and who Rolling Stone declared is “clearly ready to move on to significance,” is fresh off a coast to coast national launch of his sophomore album You Should Be Here with performances on Good Morning America and TODAY, and the history-making first-ever live radio and TV event from the 57th floor terrace of 4 World Trade Center, broadcast on Fox & Friends.  The hit singer/songwriter debuted his new single “Middle of a Memory” on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. “Middle of a Memory” was released to country radio and was the No. 1 most added that week. It currently sits at No. 38 on Mediabase/Country Aircheck and No. 34 on the Billboard country singles chart after five weeks on the chart.

CMT On Tour launched in 2002, and has featured superstar headliners including Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Randy Houser, Jamey Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, Keith Urban, Jake Owen, Kip Moore, Brett Eldredge and Thomas Rhett. You Should Be Here
shot to No. 1 on the iTunes Top Country Albums Chart and No. 3 All Genre within hours of release. Its lead single and title track held a four week run on top of Billboard’s Hot Country songs chart (tally of digital streams, radio airplay and sales) in addition to multiple weeks sitting at No. 1 on country airplay. His Gold-certified “You Should Be Here” already boasts over 40 million streams, 640,000 tracks sold and more than 20 million YouTube views. The song joins Swindell’s first four No. 1 consecutive singles as a solo artist (including Gold-certified “Let Me See Ya Girl,” along with Platinum-certified hits “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight,” “Ain’t Worth The Whiskey” and “Chillin’ It”) and marks his eighth overall as a songwriter. Swindell has sold 1.3 million total album equivalents in the two years since his debut, including 4.7 million tracks and 280 million streams.

“Nashville” Returning for Season 5!

It’s official, Nashville will be back for season 5 on CMT and Hulu. The deal came after weeks of negotiations, and fans are thrilled to get some questions answered. Will Juliette’s plane reappear intact? Will Gunner and Scarlett finally get together and stay that way? Will Will’s fight for equality finally see justice? Will Maddie reform to family ways once again??? I just can’t take the pressure!!!

There’s no official word if all the cast will reunite on CMT.
