Chris Cagle Performs National Anthem at Steelers Game

Chris Cagle sang a moving rendition of the National Anthem at Thursday’s Pittsburgh Steelers versus Cleveland Browns game at Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field. The Steelers came out on top with a 14-3 victory over the Browns. Cagle wore quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s #7 jersey.

“Singing the anthem is always a blast and it comes with great perks, if you’re a sports nut like I am. But this particular game became super special to me. I was raised to be a true blue Cowboy fan, which requires a passionate disdain for the Steelers. Once you get around the city of Pittsburgh and the fans, you can’t help but fall in love with their passion for the Black and Gold. They treated me with a tremendous amount of kindness and I can truly say I am a fan of the city, the people, and their passion for football!”

Clay Walkers Chords of Hope 2010

Country Girl and I attended the Clay Walker Chords of Hope Benefit concert at the Wildhorse Saloon on Tuesday night.  It was a great time featuring some great music.  It was also our first time seeing some of the acts that performed.  We were treated by acoustic and full band sets from Lee Brice, Chuck Wicks, SheDaisy, Chris Cagle, and Clay Walker.

Lee Brice, famed songwriter of Garth Brooks’ “More than a Memory,” treated us to several songs during his acoustic set.  Lee sounded amazing!  He’s a terrific performer and has a massive voice.  Not only did he treat us to his Garth hit, but he also performed his brand new single “Love Like Crazy”.

Up next was one of my favorites, Chuck Wicks.  Seriously ladies, this guy is dangerous.  He performed a flawless, fun, not to mention sexy acoustic set of songs old and new.  Chuck got everyone’s motor running when he performed “She Gets to Me” and “Hold that Thought.”  I nearly thought I was going to have to excuse myself, but I was saved when he sang “Stealing Cinderella.”  Being a mom of two girls ages 5 and 3, I can’t seem to make it through that song without mascara rivers running down my cheeks.  So, I apologize to anyone who had to look at me after that.

This was my first time seeing the next three acts live.  SheDaisy was next up.  I have to say, they sounded pretty good.  It was hard for me to get into their set for some reason.  But I can only assume it was my unfamiliarity with them.

Chris Cagle is grasping his second chance at making music with both hands.  Not only did her perform some old hits like “Chicks Dig It”  but he also performed some new music that was FANTASTIC!!!

I have to say, Clay Walker surprised me the most.  I hadn’t seen him live, so I was very impressed.  I knew a lot of his music and of his battle with MS, but I wasn’t aware of his moves.  Clay Walker packs some serious heat in the booty-shakin department.  He sounded amazing and really amped-up the crowd.

Over all, the night was fantastic.  See all of our pictures here.
