Charlie Daniels Band Headlines the Wilson County Fair

The Charlie Daniels Band is set to headline the 2010 Wilson County Fair on Monday, August 16th, to benefit Joseph’s Storehouse Food Ministry. The 2010 Wilson County Fair takes place August 13th-21st.

Fair admission on August 16tj will be increased by $1, with the additional funds going to Joseph’s Storehouse Food Ministry. Canned or non-perishable food will also be collected for the organization at all fair gates.

On August 10th, The Charlie Daniels Band will release a new collection of patriotic songs titled Land That I Love .

The Charlie Daniels Band to Release ‘Land That I Love’ on August 10th

The Charlie Daniels Band, is set to release a new collection of patriotic songs on August 10th titled Land That I Love.

The full-length release features 15 tracks, including newly recorded studio versions of “Iraq Blues” and “(What This World Needs Is) A Few More Rednecks 2010.” “Iraq Blues” was written during previous Charlie Daniels Band tours in Iraq, and the 2010 update of “(What This World Needs Is) A Few More Rednecks 2010” includes an additional verse the iconic musician wrote to “reflect life in America in the 21st

Other songs on the collection include Daniels classics such as “Simple Man,” “This Ain’t No Rag, It’s A Flag,” “In America,” “Still in Saigon” and more. Land That I Love will be available digitally through most major online retailers, including iTunes, Amazon.com and Rhapsody.com and in select retail stores on August 10th. The “Iraq Blues” and “(What This World Needs Is) A Few More Rednecks 2010” singles are both currently available at iTunes and Amazon.com.

Charlie Daniels Band to Release 2 Singles in July

The Charlie Daniels Band, is releasing a pair of digital singles, “Iraq Blues” and “(What This World Needs Is) A Few More Rednecks 2010,” on July 4th.

The two tracks are featured on the CDB’s forthcoming August 10th release, Land That I Love. “Iraq Blues” was written during CDB tours to Iraq, and “(What This World Needs Is) A Few More Rednecks 2010” is an updated version of a Daniels classic. Both songs are newly recorded studio versions, and the 2010 update of “(What This World Needs Is) A Few More Rednecks 2010” also includes a brand new verse. The singles will be available at all major online retailers.

“I wrote ‘Iraq Blues’ on three separate trips to entertain the troops over there in Iraq. It’s about the troops and for the troops,” says Daniels. “’(What This World Needs Is) A Few More Rednecks 2010’ is an updated version of a song I recorded several years ago. The new lyrics reflect life in America in the 21st century.”

Chris Young Added to 2009 Charlie Daniels Band and Friends Concert

Charlie Daniels has announced that Chris Young will join other artists set to appear at The 2009 Charlie Daniels Band and Friends Concert to benefit Christmas 4 Kids on November 23rd at the Ryman Auditorium.

Joining The Charlie Daniels Band and Chris Young will be Gretchen Wilson and Phil Vassar, making the 2009 concert a must-see event.

The charity event raises money for the Christmas 4 Kids Organization. Tier One (Best Seating) tickets, at just $60.00, are only available through Christmas 4 Kids by visiting www.Christmas4kids.org.

It All Begins with A Song

The legendary, Grammy-award winning Charlie Daniels Band headlined the second concert in NSAI’s “IT ALL BEGINS WITH A SONG” Performance Series at the Wildhorse Saloon on Thursday night (8/27).

The packed house was treated to a few tunes by Old Union prior to an energetic performance by the CDB, which included hits from “Long Haired Country Boy” and “The South’s Gonna Do It Again” to a powerful version of “How Great Thou Art.” As the night concluded, Charlie was presented with BMI MillionAir Awards for one million performances of “The South’s Gonna Do It Again,” “In America,” “Drinking My Baby Goodbye,” and four million performances of “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.”

He also received specially autographed lyrics of the “Tennessee Waltz” from NSAI for his contributions to the music industry. During their final song, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” the CDB was accompanied by Pro Golfer John Daly.
