Sitting at home watching the snow come down AGAIN, Burns and Poe’s “Don’t Get No Better Than That” puts a smile on my face and gets me ready for the warmer days ahead. I can’t wait to hear this song on my radio all summer long.
Do two artists make a genre? If so, add Burns and Poe to the Colt Ford-created genre “rap-country.” Fun and quirky, it mixes a little rap, some fine vocals and great country-rock guitar that is catchy to the point of being irresistible.
I reminds me a bit of John Cougar (before he was Mellencamp)’s “Jack and Diane” with a country twist.
Keith Burns and Michelle Poe bring a nice pedigree to their new duo. He’s a founding member of One Trick Pony, she’s sang backup for Dierks and Hank Jr. I expect to hear a lot from them in 2010.
