Danielle Peck and Friends Come Together for Safe Haven Family Shelter Benefit

On Tuesday, November 15, Danielle Peck and an incredible lineup featuring some of music’s finest artists performed for a packed crowd at 3rd and Lindsley to generate funds and awareness and funds for Safe Haven Family Shelter.

Hosted by GAC’s Nan Kelley, the evening was full of great performances by Danielle Peck, Jamie O’Neal, Burns and Poe, The Roys, Julie Roberts, The North Pole Patrol and Ray Scott. Rob Bironas of the Tennessee Titans was also on hand to show his support for SHFS by signing and donating a Tennessee Titans Football for the auction.

“Danielle is such an amazing advocate for our organization, and is the driving force behind the success of this event, year after year,” said Rachael Wilkins, SHFS Director of Development. “She involves some incredibly talented artists along with securing some wonderful online auction items so that there is an opportunity to garner more awareness and funds for homeless families,” she continued. “It was very moving to see these artists give so generously of their time to perform and their willingness to support our mission.”

SHFS is currently hosting an online auction with memorabilia from the likes of Randy Travis, Loretta Lynn, Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Rob Bironas (Tennessee Titans) and others.

The auction can be accessed online at http://safehaven.kintera.org/daniellepeck. The auction will run through the end of the month.

Christmas 4 Kids Tour Bus Show – December 13th

Every year we look forward to the Christmas 4 Kids Tour Bus show!  This year is no exception!

Artists appearing will be located on their own home-away-from-tour bus.  They will be signing autographs and posing for photos with fans in an effort to help raise money for the Christmas 4 Kids organization.  On Tuesday, more than 400 children will be picked up from their schools on the Entertainer’s Tour Buses and taken for a day long excursion that starts with a party hosted by Santa and Mrs. Claus. Following the party, the children will then be taken for a special shopping spree at Walmart, where they are met by their very own chaperone to help them shop. Each child is allotted $150.00 to spend on anything they want, and they will also receive a brand new winter coat.

Celebrities Hit The Green At Nashville Celebrity Golf Tourney

Nashville teed-off last Thursday, April 1, 2010, at the Hermitage Golf Course to show their support at the 10th Annual Waddell & Reed Celebrity Golf Tournament.

Fifty teams of four participated in the event with 32 celebrities joining sponsors and members of the community. Golfers played 18 holes on the picturesque course just outside Nashville and, hosts with the most, sharing in the fun, were the dynamic country music duo, Burns & Poe.

I find this kind of participation and friendship the greatest part of Nashville and the music industry.” Michelle Poe said. “Coming out, meeting fans and lending a hand, all in fun, to raise money is just one of the reasons I love this town!”

“My mother has rheumatoid arthritis and raising money for that charity in particular, which is so important to me personally, made the event even more special,” Keith Burns added. “Calling on friends to work AND play together strengthens country music, makes me happy and does leaps and bounds for the charities.”

Joining Burns & Poe and representing some of Music City’s best were legends Steve Cropper, Larry Gatlin, and Marty Raybon, award-wining songwriters and artists Ira Dean and Eric Heatherly, members of Ricochet, The Roys, Little Texas, LoCash Cowboys, The Grascals, Bo Bice,  Danielle Peck, Dustin Wilkes, Shane Thomas, Matt Gary, Lathan Moore, Scott Lindsey and Brother Trouble. Titan Craig Hendrix and LPGA golfer Clarissa Childs were among the athletes who lent their talents to the game.

Following golf, team members and attendees bid on unique memorabilia donated from Music Row. With the donations, participation fees and live auction items, nearly $20,000 was raised for The Arthritis Foundation and Christmas 4 Kids Inc. The item bringing the biggest price tag ($2,700) was a Rascal Flatts concert/bus trip (including an opportunity to join the guys on their road home). Dan Post Boot Co. also donated an assortment of boots to winning players.
