Brooks & Dunn: Boot Scootin’ Boogie – Flashback Weekend

Brooks & Dunn scored their fouth #1 hit in 1992 with Boot Scootin’ Boogie. It hit #1 in both the US and Canada.

All three single releases from Brand New Man (“My Next Broken Heart”, “Neon Moon” and “Boot Scootin’ Boogie”)  made number one on the country music charts, making for the first time in country music history that a duo or group had sent its first four singles to the top of the charts.

Kix Brooks Is In The Middle East

Now that Brooks and Dunn are no more, that frees them up for a little traveling. And, right now, Kix Brooks is doing some serious traveling. He’s on a USO Tour in the Middle East. 

Kix is with other stars, including Robin Williams, Lance Armstrong, Lewis Black and others. They’ll be on this USO tour through the weekend.

Tim Mcgraw and Kenny Chesney to Headline Bayou Country Superfest

Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney are headlining the second annual “Bayou Country Superfest.” It’s set for next Memorial Day weekend at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.

Sugarland, the Zac Brown Band, Trace Adkins and Billy Currington also are in the bill. The first Superfest was last Memorial Day weekend. More than 85,000 people came to see Kenny, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and Brooks and Dunn for this stadium show. Tickets for next year’s event go on sale November 10. The festival dates are May 28-29.

CMT is Counting Down the “40 Greatest Songs of the Decade”

CMT is celebrating the most successful and influential songs of the past ten years when it counts down country’s most popular videos in an all-new music special, CMT’S 40 Greatest Songs of the Decade, premiering Saturday, November 13 at 8:00 p.m., ET/PT.

The two-hour special will pay tribute to the top 40 videos in country music from 2000-2010, ranging from rowdy party songs and working class anthems, to passionate and fiery love songs; all of which have become fan favorites and staples in country music over the last decade.

Highlighting classics such as Brooks & Dunn’s “Red Dirt Road,” Faith Hill’s “Breathe” and Toby Keith’s “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue,” the special will also incorporate exclusive, brand-new interviews with country music’s biggest stars.

Trace Adkins, Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Taylor Swift and other famous faces will be on hand providing personal commentary and revealing the stories behind the songs.   In addition, archival footage featuring unforgettable moments with country superstars and celebrities will be included while counting down to number one.
