Alan Jackson to be Honored at ACA’s

Alan Jackson will receive the Greatest Hits Award at the American Country Awards. Jackson, who has sold more than 50 million albums over his 20-year career, will also perform on the inaugural broadcast airing live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Monday, December 6th on FOX.

The ACA Greatest Hits Award is presented to a performer who has produced an extensive catalogue of No. 1 hits throughout his/her chart-topping career. The award also recognizes the artist’s many contributions to the genre of country music.

“Alan Jackson is the consummate hit-maker whose countless chart-topping songs can be heard every day on radio stations across the country,” said Bob Bain, AMERICAN COUNTRY AWARDS executive producer. “Jackson has written and performed many of country music’s most recognizable songs, so it only seemed fitting that he receive the inaugural award.”

Since the release of his debut album in 1990, Alan Jackson has become one of the most successful and respected singer-songwriters in music today. Jackson is a 16-time award winner at both the CMA and ACM Awards and a Grammy-honored songwriter. His current album, “34 Number Ones,” is a career-spanning, double-disc collection featuring all of His No. 1 hits to date, including recent chart-topping smash “As She’s Walking Away” and Jackson’s take on Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire.”

Hosted by Trace Adkins, ACA’S is the only country music awards show that gives fans the opportunity to vote for their favorite artists not only in traditional categories but also in previously unrecognized areas of the business such as touring, encompassing the entire spectrum of country music and bestowing honors that no other awards show has. The star-studded event will also feature previously announced performers Trace Adkins, Easton Corbin, Toby Keith, Rascal Flatts, Reba, Blake Shelton, Steel Magnolia, Josh Turner and Uncle Kracker, as well as participants Laura Bell Bundy, Rodney Carrington, Jewel, Lady Antebellum, Bret Michaels, Ty Murray, Jeff Dunham and Michael Waltrip.

Bret Michaels Teams Up with Miley Cyrus for Sexy Country Song

46 year old rocker Bret Michaels (or more recently known as the reality star of Rock of Love) has decided to team up with 17 year Miley Cyrus for a song that is getting some attention from country radio.

The new song “Nothing to Lose” includes sexually suggestive lyrics that made me rather uncomfortable knowing that a minor was part of the recording.

Here are just a few of the lyrics of the song quoted from a US magazine interview with Bret:

“We both know better than this/Still we can’t resist/Slowly get undressed.” In the sensual chorus, they sing together: “Won’t you fall down on me/So close I can feel you breathe.”

In the US magazine interview Brett says: “I never sat down and said, ‘Look at the content. Look at the lyrical content … There is nothing I have to be defensive about,” “There is no reference to her. It’s not even a duet! I just thought it was a beautiful song.”

Apparently the idea for Miley to be included in the song came when Bret and Miley were in the studio working on her remake of Bret’s song “Every Rose Has Its Thorn”.    Miley told Bret she thought the song was beautiful and she would love to add a few vocals and harmony to the song.

We want you to sound off…. tell us your thoughts on “Nothing to Lose.
