Fans Camp-Out for FREE Brad Paisley & Bon Jovi Tickets

On Saturday morning, 9,000 FREE tickets went up for graps for Bon Jovi and Brad Paisley concerts at the Gulf. In true fan fashion, many camped-out to get tix in lawn chairs and blankets.

“Anyone who has a valid, government-issued, photo ID. That’s going to be the criteria,” said Foley official Sandra Pate.
The doors opened at 8 a.m., and the first one through the door was Rene Williams. She had been waiting on the sidewalk since 1 p.m. Friday, and she scored Bon Jovi tickets.

David and Jetta Weaver got tickets for both shows.  Bon Jovi will perform on October 15th and Brad Paisley will perform on October 17th.

“She said we both had to come out here if we want to both shows, and I got to thinking, you’re right. So that’s what we did, and I got in line for Brad and she got in line for Bon Jovi,” said David Weaver.

That is dedication…but I have NO doubt the show will be worth the wait.

Hullabalou Festival Was a Big Money Loser

I think 2010 will go down in the books as the worst year for music festivals!  The latest money loser…. the three-day music festival last month at Churchill Downs called Hullabalou.

It featured Kenny Chesney, Dave Matthews, Dierks Bentley, Bon Jovi and dozens of other bands. But, the parent company of the race track says the Hullabalou Music Festival lost more than $5 million. That’s about twice as much as it expected to lose. The Courier-Journal newspaper says Churchill Downs blames hot weather and low sales for concerts all over. The music festival drew more than 78,000 fans from 47 states.  Even though the festival was a big loss Louisville track had said it was going to do it again next summer.
