“Hullabalou” Festival Cancelled for 2011

The acts at last summer’s first-ever HullabaLOU Music Festival were huge: Kenny Chesney, the Dave Matthews Band, Bon Jovi, Gladys Knight and the Doobie Brothers. But, the attendance at the Churchill Downs racetrack in Louisville, Kentucky, was small.

So, there won’t be a HullabaLOU festival this summer. The Churchill Downs people say their ambitious new festival failed because of a combination of a bad economy and bad dates. The weather didn’t help, either. It topped 100 degrees during the July weekend of the festival.
