Ricky Skaggs is one of country and bluegrass’s biggest stars but he started off his musical career at the tender age of three singing gospel. When Skaggs was little he would harmonize with his mother who regularly sang at church. Now he will join the ranks of Dolly Parton and Elvis Presley when he’s inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame on August 14th. Sharing the honors that day will be queen of soul Aretha Franklin, The Hoppers, Dallas Holm, the late TV evangelist Rex Humbard and the rock band Love Song.
