Did you get a ticket to the SOLD OUT iHeartRadio Music Festival this weekend? Yeah, me neither but don’t fret Clear Channel Radio announced today that an agreement with Microsoft will enable the companies to offer a high definition video (HD) stream of the entire two-day iHeartRadio Music Festival exclusively on Xbox 360.
The iHeartRadio Music Festival, which takes place September 23-24, 2011, will be the biggest live concert festival in radio history; after it was announced on July 11, it sold out 10 minutes after tickets were put on sale to the general public. This agreement will enable the millions of Xbox 360 users to stream performances from the entire Festival in HD on Xbox LIVE, the largest social entertainment network in the living room.
Live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, the iHeartRadio Festival will feature performances from today’s hottest recording artists, including Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, Coldplay, Kenny Chesney, The Black Eyed Peas, Steven Tyler, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, Carrie Underwood, Jane’s Addiction, Nicki Minaj, David Guetta, Rascal Flatts, Bruno Mars, Sublime with Rome, Kelly Clarkson and special performances from Usher, Sting and Jeff Beck.
The iHeartRadio Music Festival will celebrate the official launch of the New iHeartRadio, Clear Channel’s free, industry-leading digital radio product, bringing users a best-in-class customizable digital listening experience, one that combines the best of both worlds to deliver everything listeners want in one free, fully-integrated service: more than 800 of the nation’s most popular live broadcast and digital-only radio stations from 150 cities, plus user-created Custom Stations, which provide listeners more songs, better music intelligence, more user control and deeper social media integration.
To watch the iHeartRadio Music Festival on the Xbox 360, Xbox LIVE members can simply sign in to their Xbox LIVE account, then access the concert HD stream on the dashboard.
The iHeartRadio Music Festival will be carried live on Clear Channel Radio stations in over 150 markets. In addition, the show will be streamed across all of Clear Channel’s radio station websites, at iheartradio.com/vegas and at facebook.com/iheartradio.
