Top Tweets of the Week – Week of August 21st

10. @BrettEldredge has been on the trip of a lifetime. These boots have been all over! “Its crazy where these boots will take me!”

9. There are also downsides to touring, however. @Jonesville (Jason Jones) experienced the difficulties of too little time at home this week. “I hate it when I have all this crap to do on my one day in town, and then suddenly out of nowhere, more crap comes along. Load of #crap.”

8. As much as I like to help others, this quote from @UncleKracker is very truthful. “Help a man in trouble and he will remember you when he is in trouble again.”

7. There are just no words for this tweet from @TrentTomlinson. “I just seen a guy who was 6’5 about 230 get into a Prius! Apparently he forgot to wear his t shirt that’s says “I sit down to pee””

6. Maybe this tweet from @BlakeShelton lead to tweet #5 from Miranda. “Holyshitballs!!!!!! Have y’all downloaded The Pistol Annies album yet?!!!!! This is unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Miranda Lambert's photo You guys sent Pistol Annies to #1 on @iTunesMusic! Thank you all for getting a copy of the album!

5. @Miranda_Lambert “You guys sent Pistol Annies to #1 on @iTunesMusic! Thank you all for getting a copy of the album!”

4. I can’t believe @DannyGokey would push someone off of the cliff (well a virtual cliff) “My friends Facebook status said, “standing on the edge of a cliff :/”…so i poked him.”

3. @TaylorSwift13 has been on a whirlwind the last few years and last week she had some special guests to help her out in LA. “I couldn’t love LA crowds more. I can’t believe how awesome tonight was. And thank you @jason_mraz for singing “I’m Yours” with me!!”

2. I had only read the first part of @JayDeMarcus’ tweet and then I read the second part andwas on the floor laughing. “Mondays are a complete drag sometimes… And NOT the queen kind the more of the this day sucks kind…”

1. All you @DierksBentley congress members may have led to a problem. Maybe he can be in the same AA group as Blake Shelton – “to all our diehard fans of mine and the band, just want to let you know we are all out and drinking PATRON in your honor! #thehangover3”

Kenny Chesney Says the Show Must Go On

Kenny Chesney wasn’t sure that carrying on with his planned tour stop in Tuscaloosa was appropriate following April’s tornadoes, but Wednesday night’s show (5/25) changed his mind.

“I didn’t know if we were doing the right thing,” he admits. “But after tonight I am convinced that this town needed something to look forward to.”

Guests included Uncle Kracker and Mac McAnally, with Chesney’s performance of Alabama’s “My Home’s In Alabama” becoming what the singer called “as emotional of a moment that we have ever had onstage.”

Kenny lunched with University of Alabama football coach Nick Saban, who has donated $50,000 toward rebuilding. Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox thanked Kenny and team for donating show proceeds to GiveTuscaloosa.com. Contributions are still being accepted online, by phone (205-758-7588) and by mail (checks payable to “Tuscaloosa Disaster Relief Fund,” P.O. Box 020410, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401).

Not the best visual video of the night but the audio is perfect and I thought it was perfect to share.

Trent Tomlinson Recruits Uncle Kracker, Keith Anderson For Hometown Benefit

Trent Tomlinson will return to his hometown of Kennett, Mo on Tuesday, May 24 to perform an exclusive benefit concert for the Delta Children’s Home.

Tomlinson will be joined by fellow recording artists Uncle Kracker and Keith Anderson.

“Last year’s concert was an incredible success,” says Tomlinson. “I’m so grateful to Uncle Kracker and Keith Anderson for their involvement this year. The Delta Children’s Home has been going strong since 1963 and has benefited thousands of children throughout the region. With the current economic conditions, every little bit helps, so we’ve committed to donating 100% of the concert proceeds to the organization. You can bet we’ll continue this tradition for years to come.”

The Delta Children’s Home has been changing the lives of children in southeast Missouri for more than 40 years. When kids have nowhere else to turn, the Delta Children’s Home provides not only a roof over their heads, but a strong foundation on which to build new lives.

Kenny Kicks Off Summer With More than 50,000 Fans

More than 50,000 fans went coastal with Kenny Chesney Saturday night in Tampa (3/19) at the first of his 11 stadium shows and second stop of his 2011 Goin’ Coastal Tour. “I saw the first show in West Palm Beach (3/17) and the stadium show in Tampa,” our insider reports. “Both are great, one’s just on steroids.” The stadium-show entrance was under wraps until the Saturday date. “You know the camera-on-wires they use at NFL games? He was on that kind of setup, so instead of coming in on a straight line like a zip-line, he was able to move around about 30-50 feet over the audience. He probably had two minutes of airtime before hitting the stage with probably a minute left in the first song.” Setting Chesney up were Uncle Kracker, Billy Currington and the Zac Brown Band, who hosted an eat-and-greet for fans prior to the show and mixed Van Morrison and Charlie Daniels Band covers in their set.

For the encore, ZBB and Chesney played a 20-minute super-group jam, which included “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy,” along with Alabama’s “Dixieland Delight,” Rolling Stones “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers’ “Runnin’ Down A Dream.” Celebrity sightings at the Sunshine State dates included NFL greats Joe Namath, Jason Witten, Wes Welker and Jon Gruden; and MLB players Nick Swisher, Cliff Lee, Roy Halladay and John Smoltz.

Kenny Chesney Kicks of His Tour Tonight

After two months of constant rehearsing, Kenny Chesney and his band hit the stage in West Palm Beach, Florida tonight. It’s the first stop of their Goin’ Coastal tour.

Kenny says despite all the rehearsals, “the one factor that’s never there until you get there is the crowd and the energy that’s exchanged.” He says they “weak from there based on the energy of the crowd. That’s always the X factor that you don’t know.”

Kenny is bringing Billy Currington and Uncle Kracker and his opening acts. The Zac Brown Band is joining them on their stadium dates.
