The Band Perry

The roar of engines will now be joined by the sweet sounds of rhythm and bass during this year’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, thanks to a partnership announcement today among the makers of Crown Royal® whisky, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and BigMachineRecords.com. Officially titled Crown Royal Presents the “Your Hero’s Name Here” 400 at the Brickyard Powered by BigMachineRecords.com, the race weekend will feature country music stars The Band Perry, Justin Moore, The Mavericks, Greg Bates and others performing for fans in attendance and viewers tuning in to the race on television.

Big Machine Label Group artists will be on hand at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 29 to ensure the winner of Crown Royal’s annual “Your Hero’s Name Here” contest is provided an experience to remember. The winner, who will be named in early July, will meet various stars and attend a concert as part of a collaborative effort by Crown Royal and the BigMachineRecords.com to showcase those individuals who make a difference in their communities without asking for anything in return. Crown Royal and the Big Machine Label Group artists will be at the track all weekend honoring heroes from Indianapolis and around the country and additionally, urging adult fans to drink responsibly and designate drivers, helping to make sure everyone has a fantastic race-day experience and gets home safely.

“There’s no track in the world like the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and I’m thrilled that we will return as a race sponsor in 2012 for the Crown Royal presents the ‘Your Hero’s Name Here’ 400 at the Brickyard powered by BigMachineRecords.com!” said Scott Borchetta, President and CEO of the Big Machine Label Group. “We will again bring our most exciting artists to the stage for a great pre-race musical experience for the fans.”

As part of Crown Royal’s “Your Hero’s Name Here” 400 program, the five finalists, which will ultimately include the winner, will travel to Indianapolis for one of the NASCAR season’s most-anticipated races. The winner will be treated to an unforgettable experience, which includes waving the green flag to signal the start of the race and delivering the trophy bearing his or her moniker to the race winner in Victory Lane.

The Crown Royal Presents the “Your Hero’s Name Here” 400 at the Brickyard Powered by BigMachineRecords.com, will be the marquee event of the inaugural Super Weekend at the Brickyard, which also will feature a NASCAR Nationwide Series event Saturday, July 28, two GRAND-AM road races Friday, July 27 and Nationwide practice Thursday, July 26.

The Band Perry Receives Resolution from Mississippi State Senate,

-r: Patrick Bryant, Neil Perry, Governor Phil Bryant, First Lady Deborah Bryant, Kimberly Perry and Reid Perry at the Governor's mansion in Jackson, Mississippi.

The Band Perry made the most of a tour stop in their birth state of Mississippi over the weekend. The busy schedule included a record-breaking performance, a special stop at Kessler Air Force Base, a meeting with the Governor and of course, a little time with their Grandparents.

While waiting in line, a fan holds a photo to be signed by The Band Perry members, Kimberly, Reid and Neil. The group came to Keesler's Bay BreezeEvent Center to sign autographs and take pictures with the base's families prior to their concert in Biloxi, MS Saturday. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Kimberly Rae Moore)

Kimberly, Reid and Neil spent Saturday afternoon with service men, women and their families at Keesler Air Force Base before heading over to perform at the 20th Annual Mississippi Coast Coliseum Crawfish Music Festival in Biloxi. Of the concert, Coliseum Assistant Executive Director Matt McDonnell told The Sun Herald that The Band Perry’s performance sold more tickets in advance than any other single act to ever play the festival.

“Both of our parents grew up in Mississippi, and we were born there. The people have just been amazing to us,” says Neil Perry.

On Sunday, the sibling trio took a rare day off to visit with relatives and savor some of their Grandmother’s home cooking in preparation for a big day at the state capital in Jackson, Mississippi. Governor Phil Bryant and The First Lady of Mississippi greeted The Band Perry at a private brunch held for the band at the Governor’s Mansion on Monday morning. Later that afternoon, the trio was presented with a resolution in the Mississippi State Senate Chamber commemorating their career success and accomplishments. The resolution was introduced by Senator Michael Watson and was passed by both the House and the Senate.

“It was such an honor for us to not only share our time in Mississippi with the Governor and First Lady but to be invited to visit with families at Keesler was definitely humbling,” says Reid Perry.

The Band Perry’s weekend of monumental events culminated Monday afternoon with a CMT Music Award nomination for Group Video of the Year.

“We are so thankful, and honestly, a little overwhelmed at all of the wonderful blessings we have received. Being invited to have brunch with the Governor and First Lady and to stand on the floor of the Senate Chamber in Mississippi and be recognized was such an honor. Then later to find out about our CMT nomination on the same day was incredible,” says Kimberly Perry.

After the Mississippi trek, The Band Perry headed to New Orleans, where they are currently shooting a music video for “Postcard From Paris,” the fifth single off of their Platinum-certified, debut album on Republic Nashville.

On April 29th, they will resume opening for Brad Paisley’s VIRTUAL REALITY WORLD TOUR and playing their own headlining dates.
