Steel Magnolia and Big Machine Part Ways….But Have Meghan and Josh Also Parted Ways?

It’s been a tough few months for Steel Magnolia. Josh Scott Jones was forced to pull out of the Reba tour in September and entered rehab. While Meghan Linsey continued on with James Otto filling in.

Since then we have heard rumors that Mehan and Josh were on the outs and no longer living together.   A source has pointed out to CMTT that if you follow the pair on Twitter the signs point to a personal break up.

Since Josh got out of rehab, he and Meghan have been encouraging fans to follow their individual Twitter accounts. Josh tweeted that his roommate’s yappy dog was driving him crazy. Roommate? I thought him and Meg were engaged and living together? And you know how James Otto filled in for Josh on the Reba tour? Well, Meghan tweeted that she was heading into the recording studio with James!

Although there is no confirmation of the breakup The Boot is reporting that their March 24 Steel Magnolia show at Greeneville, Tennessee’s Niswonger Performing Arts Center has been canceled, with the venue’s director claiming a breakup is to blame.

“It is our understanding that the duo is no longer performing together,” reports NPAC Executive Director Darrell Bryan. “We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause our patrons.”

The Boot has also confirmed Steel Magnolia are no longer with their label Big Machine Records.  Were sorry to hear about all of this Steel Magnolia made great music together!

1. With a sold out debut weekend, the @BradPaisley Virtual Reality World Tour 2012 is off with a bang! Brad posted this from the Bradley Center “I’ve never been cooler than this…”

Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts had an announcement on twitter this week. Read this if you are headed to a show “If you are coming to a show this winter, wear all white!!! That shall be the theme, spread the word!!!!!!”

Love Was In the Air in 2011

2011 was definitely a year of love. Lots of country’s biggest stars were engaged and/or said ‘I Do.’

  • Shania Twain & Frederic Thiebaud tied the knot on January 1st in Puerto Rico.
  • Kellie Pickler & Kyle Jacobs got hitched in the Carribbean on January 1st
  • Blake Shelton & Miranda Lambert got hitched in front of friends, family, and fellow stars on May 14th
  • Chely Wright and Lauren Blitzer said ‘I Do’ in their intimate outdoor ceremony on August 20th.
  • Randy Houser & Jessa Lee Yantz tied the knot on September 2nd.
  • Sunny Sweeney & Jeff Helmer tried their luck on 11-11-11 in Vegas.
  • Jessica Andrews & Marcel Chagnon also got lucky on November 11th in their Nashville ceremony.
  • Jennifer Nettles & Justin Miller surprised everyone with their Smokey Mountain wedding on November 26th.

Several other folks will get hitched next year after their 2011 engagements.

“Let Us In” Nashville – A Tribute To Linda McCartney Now Available

On Monday, November 7th a special concert to benefit The Woman and Cancer Fund kicked off CMA Week in appropriate fashion at Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium. The concert was hosted by actor/musician Jeff Daniels, who also performed along with SHeDAISY, Sarah Darling, Steel Magnolia, Phil Vassar, Cheyenne Kimball, Juliana Cole, Jeff Daniels, Nikki Shannon Fernandez, Jordyn Shellhart, Chuck Wicks, Nancy Sirianni, Samantha Landrum, and Blue Sky Riders.

Performers for the “Let Us In” event and several other artists contributed an original version of a Sir Paul McCartney song for a charity-based compilation album.“Let Us In” Nashville – A Tribute To Linda McCartney is now available for purchase, and proceeds will also benefit The Women and Cancer Fund. The Boot recently premiered Sarah Daring’s track “Blackbird” from the album, and “Let Us In” Nashville is streaming all week as a part of Listening Booth and Listening Party.

10. This week was the end of Reba’s All the Women I am Tour and she threw a party for the opening acts after the show. “End of tour after party with @reba!!!”

9. Songwriting is how @KipMooreMusic makes a living, but he lost his lifeline this week “Left my computer outside Newark airport….8 years worth of song lyrics..guess who didn’t back his computer up… This genius”

8. Sometimes drivers don’t understand what it means to be in a rush. @JimmyWayne wants to know what to do if it happens “if your limo driver is driving 15 miles under the speed limit is it ok to take over the car as long as there’s no duct tape & rope involved?”

7. I don’t think @BrettEldredge thought through this idea. Every bar would need a lifeguard to save the drunks if this happened “Every hotel should be required to have a swim up bar…. Better yet, every bar should be a swim up bar”

6. This week TV changed forever. Regis Philbin retired from Live with Regis and Kelly. @AshleyMonroe from the Pistol Annies shared her emotions with the world “That’s it .. I’m BAWLING during regis’ farewell.. DEVASTATING. COMPLETELY DEVASTATING!!!!”

4. You know @ZacBrownBand likes their chicken fried, but if you want fried turkey, they have some advice for you “If you like your turkey fried… follow the safety precautions.”

3. All tour, @TaylorSwift13 has been bringing out special guests, but South Carolina had a great surprise – Darius Rucker! I can’t wait to see who she brings out for her final shows. “Darius Rucker came out and sang with me tonight in South Carolina! such an amazing crowd! Hard to believe we only have 2 shows left..”

2. The start of everyone’s favorite season – hunting season – was this week. @Miranda_Lambert took advantage of opening weekend. “It’s 74 degrees in this blind. Should have brought my cooler. Did remember my laptop tho and of course my 308:)”

1. Charles of @LadyAntebellum is on his first headlining tour. After the first weekend, he already had fan-inflicted wounds. “gash marks from sticking my hand into a group of long fingernailed women on the own the night tour, ha. – charles”
