Carrie Underwood Plays On in Nashville

Carrie Underwood brought her “Play On” tour to Nashville on Wednesday night (Oct 13) and it was amazing!

Sons of Sylvia opened and they were fabulous! They are a great up and coming band that everyone should check out. They broke out a bluegrass jam that was awesome and said that’s what they grew up playing. The lead singer of Sons of Sylvia, Ashley Clark, also did a duet with Carrie “What Can I Say” and it was fabulous. The other brothers, Austin and Adam Clark, also played during the duet. The way they played many different instruments throughout their set was amazing! I really liked their new single “I’ll Know You”. Everyone check it out! (You won’t be sorry!)

Billy Currington was Carrie’s second opener and he of course sang all of his beer-drinking songs that really got the crowd going! His set was cool with panels that were lit up that showed people drinking beer with lights. He also sang his first single “Must Be Doing Something Right” and Billy’s vocals sounded great during the entire set.

Carrie was AMAZING!   I am really speechless because her show was freaking amazing!!! Her vocals were spot on her set changed with every song and her many wardrobe changes went along with the different sets! She came up through the floor on a bright red sofa and sang everything from “Cowboy Casanova” to turning “Jesus Take the Wheel” into “How Great Thou Art” which received a long standing ovation from an already standing crowd that got Carrie a little choked up.

As if that wasn’t enough Carrie appeared in the bed of a bright blue truck singing John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Road” that was lifted above the crowd on the left side of the stage and ended around on the right side of the stage! Her final song of the night was “Songs Like This” where she broke into Miranda Lambert’s “White Liar” and Beyonce’s “Put a Ring On It” which was hilarious!

If you haven’t heard the song its great it’s says “And if it wasn’t for guys like you there wouldn’t be songs like this”. This wardrobe change for this song was personally my favorite in her thigh high boots and short fringe dress!

In all the entire show was amazing from Sons of Sylvia, to Billy Currington, and then Carrie Underwood!   A definite must see show!

The 17,000 fans who filled the Hollywood Bowl Saturday night got more than Carrie Underwood and her opening acts of Billy Currington and Sons of Sylvia.

Randy Travis surprised the audience when he joined Carrie for a duet of their hit “I Told You So.” And, Michael Jackson’s guitarist, Orianthi, came out and played when Carrie sang “Last Name.”
