Check out the new video from Michelle Branch for “Loud Music”.
Hey everyone!! I’m so excited to share the video for “Loud Music” with you guys. I’ve made music videos that run the gamut, from giant four day shoots on location, (Goodbye To You), to closed sets on movie lots (Are You Happy Now?), and video shoots that feel more like a movie shoots with extensive wardrobe and horse wranglers (My, Oh My with The Wreckers). But this shoot was by far the most guerilla/docu-style. We had a rough template for the treatment but no storyboard to follow, shot-for-shot. I sorta had to just surrender to Travis, our director, and trust that everything was going to come together in the end. As a result, he was able to capture some really beautiful organic moments between the “band” and I. It was insanely warm for most of the shoot, we were driving in 105*F weather in a 60’s van with no AC, but it forced everyone to bond a little more quickly than we normally would have. I was given an 8mm camera to shoot some footage of my own in our tour van, as well as a beautiful old railroad bridge. My “love interest” Chad Carlisle who surfaces throughout the video happens to be a friend of mine who helped engineer part of my record. It was a little awkward shooting certain scenes with him because we’d just start laughing half way through.
I hope you enjoy this one as much as we did making it.
