Women of Country Represented in Women Who Rock Exhibit

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum will open a groundbreaking and provocative new exhibit that will illustrate the important roles women have played in rock and roll, from its inception through today. Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power will highlight the flashpoints, the firsts, the best, the celebrated — and sometimes lesser-known women — who moved rock and roll music and American culture forward.

Faith Hill, Loretta Lynn, Brenda Lee and Taylor Swift are among the more than 70 female artists featured in the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame and Museum’s exhibit Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power. Items on display include a 1964 telegram from Dusty Springfield to Lee, Hill’s Versace outfit worn during CBS-TV’s 2000 Thanksgiving special, Lynn’s pink gown worn during the “Portland, Oregon” video and Swift’s handwritten “Change” lyrics. The two-floor exhibition opens May 13th and demonstrates how women have influenced popular music from the early 20th century to the present.

You can read more about the exhibit specifics here.
