Country fans know the story of Loretta Lynn getting married at 13, but it turns out she’s three years older than she had led people to believe and was 15 when she got married. The singer’s birth certificate obtained by The Associated Press shows Lynn was born on April 14, 1932 — making her 80 years old.  What ever age she is the woman looks FANTASTIC!

Most references list her age as 77. Lynn’s spokeswoman isn’t commenting on the report. Nancy Russell says Lynn has told her before that if anyone asks her age “tell them it’s none of their business.” In her autobiography, “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” Lynn said she was married at 13 and was a mother of four by 18. But her marriage license shows she was 15. “Coal Miner’s Daughter” was made into an Academy Award-winning film and is going to become a Broadway musical.

After what she calls “one scary night,” Loretta Lynn is resting at home. Early Saturday, Lynn woke up on her tour bus and was having trouble breathing. It turns out she had bacterial pneumonia. She was treated at a hospital in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

She was forced to cancel Saturday’s concert in Ashland, Kentucky and Sunday’s in Durham, North Carolina. Lynn says she’s feeling better now but she’ll continue to rest. She’ll be back on the road, November 3 in Knoxville, Tennessee. The two concerts Lynn missed over the weekend already have been rescheduled. She’ll be in Ashland January 7 and Durham January 8.

The legendary Loretta Lynn has cancelled several upcoming shows due to hospitalization. According to her website, she is doing well and expects to perform her November dates.

Loretta regretfully must cancel her shows for Ashland Ky, and Durahm, NC for this weekend, due to illness. Doctors have diagnosed her as the beginning stages pneumonia, and will continue to need rest. Loretta is doing well and is disappointed but feels confident she will be ready for upcoming November dates.
