Lee Brice’s ‘Hard to Love’ Makes Impressive Debut!

Lee Brice

Hard 2 Love, Lee Brice’s sophomore album, debuts as #1 Digital Country Album; #2 on Billboard Country Albums chart with first week sales of over 46,000 units. During the initial week of release, the album topped the iTunes Country chart at #1 and the lead single, “A Woman Like You,” is quickly approaching platinum status. Brice celebrated the album launch with his late night debut on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” yesterday. The album’s second single pick, “Hard to Love,” goes to radio May 14 and has already charted in the Top 10 on the iTunes Top Country Songs chart.

“The past few months have been a whirlwind for me,” commented Brice. “I’m so proud of how the record turned out, and how the fans are reacting. I can’t wait to play it live on the road.”

Hard 2 Love is the highly-anticipated follow-up album to Brice’s 2010 debut release, Love Like Crazy. Love Like Crazy’s title-track was named Billboard’s 2010 Most Played Country Song. In 2011, Eli Young Band’s hit, “Crazy Girl,” co-penned by Brice, was Billboard’s Most Played Country Song of the Year and picked up the 2012 ACM for “Song of the Year.” Fans can view his “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” episode at http://www.hulu.com/watch/356807/the-tonight-show-with-jay-leno-tue-may-1-2012#s-p1-so-i0. Lee Brice’s New Album Isn’t “Hard 2 Love”

Lee Brice

Lee Brice released  his sophomore album “Hard 2 Love” today (April 24).  With the already hit single, “A Women Like You,” this highly anticipated album has everyone waiting to see what other treasures this new project will hold.

When you think of Lee Brice you can’t help but think about the song “Love Like Crazy” which holds a Billboard Hot Country Songs chart record of longest chart run at 56 weeks. The song struck a chord with a lot of people and made Lee leave a lasting impression with fans and Nashville insiders alike. On his new album Lee shows that was just the beginning of what he has to offer. “Hard 2 Love” is a blend of emotions, a lot of fun and shows Lee’s diversity as an artist.

The album begins with the title track and right away it draws you in. With powerful vocals and a catchy chorus it would make a great next single. Another completely different style of song on the album is “Parking Lot Party.” Let’s just say one simple word describes this song to a “T” and that is FUN! The beat and the lyrics combine to create the perfect party anthem. There is also the ode to a party favorite in the song, “Beer.” It is actually quite a charismatic tune in its own way and will more than likely be a song people will raise their cups to at a concert.

Lee also reminds us that songs stem from real life in “I Drive Your Truck.” This one is definitely a stand out song on the album. With its emotional lyrics and the strong conviction in which Lee sings it, this song will stick with you for a long time. The song “Life Off My Years” is about living the life you are given to the fullest. In the chorus Lee sings, “I‘ll take years off of my life before I take life off my years.”  Yet another great song is ”See About A Girl.” It has a bluesy feel and Lee sings it smoothly while adding a little grit in his voice at just the right moments. The beat of the song is unique and it is one you will want to put on repeat.

Lee Brice should be proud of this whole album. It is solid from the first note to the last and from the lyrics to his delivery. There are 13 songs and there isn’t one that I didn’t enjoy. I definitely can see many of these songs hitting radio and winning the hearts of many country fans. Make sure you pick up your copy of “Hard 2 Love” or check it out on iTunes.
