Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban’s Lunch Date with Faith – Photo of the Day

Keith Urban and Nicole

It’s always great to see Keith Urban out and about with his wife Nicole Kidman but when we get to see them out their kids it’s even more of a treat.  Looks like Keith and Nicole took daughter Faith Margaret out on the town in Los Angeles on Wednesday (February 1).

Nicole is currently working on her new movie “The Paperboy” while Keith is getting ready to head back to Australia to start taping for The Voice.

Keith Urban “really gonna tear it up” at the Opry Before Heading to Oz

Keith URban Opry

Keith Urban’s “You Gonna Fly”, the fourth single from Get Closer, is charging up the airplay charts hitting #5 this week marking the four-time Grammy Award winner’s 27th Top 5. It follows two consecutive #1s, “Long Hot Summer” and “Without You”, and begins a week that will see Urban’s return to the stage this Friday night at The Opry in Nashville. The performance is his first since throat surgery late last year.

“I’m really looking forward to being back on stage, and more specifically on the Opry stage. When I was told earlier this week that the Ryman was going to start renovations on the stage after our show I thought, ‘you know, when we say we’re really gonna tear it up tonight, maybe they’re worried I mean it literally?”

Later this month, Urban will head to Sydney for a week of filming for the Australian version of “The Voice”. Urban will pop back and forth to Australia over the next few months while maintaining a busy schedule here in the United States that includes a second show at the Opry, the much anticipated third annual “All For The Hall” benefit concert on April 10th among other appearances and performances.

“It’ll be a blast spending a little time in Australia working on The Voice, getting the opportunity to try and help some killer raw talent blossom,” said Urban. “And I have a feeling that being immersed in that new kind of “everything is possible” energy, will have a real inspiring and liberating effect on creating new music for my new album!”

Much of Urban’s time over the course of the year will be spent at home in Nashville, where he’s already begun writing and finding songs for his next album. No release date set as of yet.

Keith Urban To Be the Last Artist to Perform on Ryman Stage

Keith Urban at Opry

Keith Urban will be the last artist to perform on the Ryman Auditorium stage. The iconic stage made of oak was installed in 1951 and has since been graces by legends such as Patsy Cline, Bruce Springsteen, Aretha Franklin, Dolly Parton, Paul Simon, and more…but all those feet and all of that equipment have taken it’s toll.

“The weak spots, dips and just the wear and tear of the shows that we’ve done over the last 18 years ultimately made it a necessity,” he said. “Being able to (build) a stage that really meets the demands of current production values is really very critical.”

The new floor will be more durable, made of Brazilian teak. The same wood was used to replace the Grand Ole Opry House stage after sustaining damage in the Nashville flood in 2010. By using it, the new stage will be able to support up to 120,000 pounds: three times its current load-bearing capacity. However, the old floor won’t be completely lost. The original wood will be placed along an 18-inch-deep strip that will run lengthwise along the edge of the new stage.

So, those who attend Friday’s Grand Ole Opry show will not only get to see Keith Urban’s first public performance since his vocal surgery month, but they’ll also be witnessing the last show to EVER take place on the historical stage.

Keith Urban is Finding His Voice After Vocal Surgery

If Keith Urban’s stories are any indication, being on vocal rest is both humorous and heartbreaking.  Country Aircheck spoke with him at Wednesday’s No. 1 party “Long Hot Summer.”

“I took a white board everywhere with me,” he said of his recovery from vocal cord surgery. “When you have to write stuff, you get particular about what you want to say. We went to a dinner, and I really wanted to contribute to the conversation. I’d write what I wanted to say, and [by the time] I’d finished, they had moved on to another subject!”

To communicate with daughter Sunday Rose, Keith recorded books on tape in advance and played them for her at bedtime.

“She would hit the ‘stop’ button and go, ‘I want you to read it,’” he explained. “That was hard.”

On to the party, where co-writer Richard Marx was in attendance and Urban closed with a performance of the song with fans Patrick Woolam and Leslie Strong who he discovered on YouTube.

VIDEO- Keith Urban & Richard Marx Celebrate No. 1 Success of “Long Hot Summer”

Yesterday, Keith Urban and co-writer Richard Marx jammed on stage with contest winners during his LiveStreamed No. 1 party for “Long Hot Summer.” The winners were chosen based on their YouTube videos of them performing the hit single.

Prior to the livestream of the party, Keith took the time to say “Thanks” to the fans who’ve shown so much love and support during his vocal surgery. By the sounds of things, Keith is back and better than ever!
