Jessica Simpson Finally Dropped from Her Record Label?

One of our readers sent me some very interesting emails today.  He has been doing some “tattle tale” investigation work and it seems that Jessica Simpson is no where to be found on any of her record label websites.

If you remember – back in December – we told you that rumors were flying that Joe Galante, the head of Sony BMG Nashville was furious with all of her antics.  They were threatening to drop her from the label.

Could these rumors finally becoming true after her shaking tour with Rascal Flatts?

Our reader noticed the following:

Today, her name appears nowhere among the artists listed on the web sites of Columbia Nashville or Sony Music Nashville. Even a search of each site finds that any prior mention of her photos, profile, press releases – has apparently been purged:

http://www.sonymusicnashville.com/artists/

http://www.columbianashville.com/artists/

You can still find old press releases in the Google cache, but they do not exist at Columbia Nashville or Sony BMG Nashville’s web sites.

For example, this used to be the URL for her artist page: http://www.columbianashville.com/artists/details.cfm?artistid=1000040

As you can see, it errors out, because she’s been removed from the database.  There’s no reason to do that unless she’s been dropped from the label.

So has my wish finally been granted?  Short lived country music career.  What do we think she will move onto next?  Any suggestions?

Let us know if you have heard anything else about her status with the label.  Please remember as of right this moment….this is just rumor.

Jessica Simpson Gets Flubbergasted

Jessica Simpson went out with a cur-plop at her last Rascal Flatts show in California over the weekend….Jessica flubbed a few lines in two of her songs, and reportedly started them over.  After messing up “Remember That” Jessica commented:

“Oops! I said whiskey too early! I messed up!” she told the audience, according to US magazine. “I’m so embarrassed! But I’m starting over again because I really want you guys to hear the lyrics the right way.”

I usually think the protocol is to just plow on through and keep going.  After messing up the opening line to “Still Don’t Stop Me,” Jessica apologized again…

“I messed up again. I do this all the time!” she said with a laugh, before starting the song over.

Wow…really?  Thank goodness it’s over.  Good riddens Jessica!

Dolly Parton Defending Jessica Simpson….Again

Dolly Parton must really hold a special place in her heart for Jessica Simpson.  She is once again coming to her defense and speaking up for the rained on country crossover.

Dolly paid a visit to ‘Larry King Live’ and made the following comments:

“People always treat her bad; they always talk bad about her,” Parton said. “I’ve been fat and I’ve been skinny, and I’m not about to say anything about somebody else’s weight, because I know how hard it is when you gain five or six pounds. I don’t know how overweight she is — I have not seen her. But I know that Jessica is a good girl, and she’s beautiful to me.”  “She’ll get some weight off just because people won’t leave her alone,” said Parton. “She’ll have to get skinny just to get people to shut the hell up!”

She has a point there! Read what Dolly had to say about Jessica a few months ago when she came to her rescue when people were talking about her crossover to country.

Jessica Simpson has a Meltdown on Stage in Grand Rapids

Our buddy Broadway had a correspondent at the Grand Rapids Jessica Simpson/Rascal Flatts concert last night and Jessica Simpson had a TOTAL meltdown ON STAGE.

OK, so it wasn’t a total meltdown but who does this?  No professional entertainer stops in the middle of a long LIVE on stage and starts over.  I watched Gary Levox fall off of the stage in Orlando a few years ago in the middle of “These Days” and he kept right on singing.  He had an off note or two on his way down to the floor but he landed on his feet and kept right on singing.

Really Jessica, I am starting to feel for you.  I think it’s time to step out of the spotlight for a little while.  Get your act together before you do something crazy like shave your head.

Take a listen to what people who were at the concert have to say:

As soon as Broadway has the video available we will update the post.

Here is what another blog had to say about Jessica’s meltdown onstage:

Well, it looks like Tony Romo missed his flight to Grand Rapids, where his singer/girlfriend Jessica Simpson is performing tonight at Van Andel Arena. The pop singer/actor turned country artist told a crowd of about 8,000 that she plans to see Romo on Friday.

“I’m so excited, I get to see my boyfriend tomorrow,” she said shortly after opening her set with a cover of “These Boots are Made for Walking.”

Introducing her song “You’re My Sunday,” which she wrote for the Dallas Cowboys quarterback, she said. “He’s the person who makes me relax.”

But there was nothing relaxing about her 38-minute set. While singing the ballad “With You,” she paused during the middle of the song to take a drink of water while her backup singers took over the lead vocals. After the song, she seemed a little embarrassed and said it’s difficult to be on stage and be so vulnerable.

But the night got a little stranger for the 28-year-old Simpson, who has been in the news a lot with her supposed weight issues. She continuously struggled with her ear monitors and often seemed to lose her place in several songs. She even had the band start over on the up-tempoed “Pray Out Loud.”

But the show veered into the direction of a trainwreck toward the end of her opening slot for Rascal Flatts, completely forgetting the lyrics to her single “Come on Over” and asking for forgiveness from the audience by mouthing the word “sorry” on the two video screens.

Things were so bad, while introducing her closing song “Do You Know,” she talked about how she felt like walking off the stage. At the end of the song, she thanked her band for “having her back.” And it looked as if she was wiping away tears as she walked off the stage.

Wow, she may need a little Romo-ance tonight.
