Boy did my post about The Wreckers get some attention!  I had no idea how heated the conversation would get.  The results really seem to be split down the middle.  Some thought that there is no need to pick one over the other (which I agree) but some still favor one artist over the other and plan to play favorites when the albums are released.

  • The winner of the Jessica Harp – Preface CD is: Steph
  • The winner of the Michelle Branch – Hotel Paper CD is: Haley
  • The winner of the Michelle Branch – The Spirit Room CD is: Susan

The Wreckers – Are They Wrecked? Jessica Harp vs. Michelle Branch

I was talking to some friends the other day about how much we missed The Wreckers.  “Leave the Pieces” and “My, Oh My” among other songs from their Stand Still Look Pretty album could have served as an anthem for women everywhere.  The Wreckers were on their way to the top, even winning a Grammy in 2006.

Shortly after the release of the album the duo was able to score opening act for Rascal Flatts and announced they were breaking up after a short leg on the Keith Urban tour.

Michelle Branch and Jessica Harp parted ways taking along with them what seemed to be a flawless way to the top.  Although Jessica had stated that they will indeed continue The Wreckers as a side project, with no official statement to the fans from Jessica or Michelle the rumors started flying.  Many of stories have been told, mostly pointing fingers at one member or the other as to the reason for the breakup.

Now both ladies are gunning for the same country charts with  brand new solo albums in the works.

We want to know….. Do you think there is a rivalry among The Wreckers fans? and will you be buying both albums or are you playing favorites?

Leave us a comment with your answers and you will be entered to win a copy of one of the following albums:

  • Jessica Harp – Preface
  • Michelle Branch – Hotel Paper
  • Michelle Branch – The Spirit Room
  • The Wreckers – Stand Still Look Pretty
  • The Wreckers – Way Back Home: Live From New York City

Does Blake Shelton Have a “Hillbilly Bone” to Pick With Trace Adkins?

The web has been abuzz with speculation over Blake Shelton’s next single, and it looks like it won’t be a song from his current CD but a new duet with Trace Adkins called “Hillbilly Bone.”

Blake added fuel to the fire this week, posting this clue on Twitter:

“I’m gonig to kick the … door down with this next one!!! Oh and I’m bringing a friend to help… And he can damn sure kick one down….”

Last week actor Sean Dennison posted to his Twitter account:

“Also booked socialite role in Blake Shelton/Trace Adkins music vid ‘Hillbilly Bone’ films wed.”

And apparently a Seattle DJ has already heard the new track, according to Blake Shelton fan Pearl, who posted the following to the Blake Shelton Fan club site: “The DJ on my radio station Twittered some possible Blake news: DJ Tony Thomas(@tonythomas): Mega-songwriter Craig Wiseman (@thebigloudshirt) tweeted he’s psyched about a new @blakeshelton cut called Hillbilly Bone!”

Dedicated BSer Pearl kept digging and posted the following: “So, I went back to look at Craig Wiseman’s original tweet: Craig Wiseman (@thebigloudshirt) – MAN! I heard a cut today- Blake Shelton – HILLBILLY BONE!!!! DUDE it makes me proud to be doing this…..”

Blake has been telling his Twitter followers about trips to Dallas to record but hasn’t really shares many details beyond lamenting the fact that he’s not allowed to drink while he’s recording.

Jessica Harp also mentioned this summer that she had recorded vocals for a Blake Shelton song but no confirmation if she’s part of this song.

Of course this could all be Blake BSing us all, so we’ll just have to keep checking Twitter for details.

Also inside the magazine is best-dressed Keith Anderson. (I am shocked he was voted one of the best dressed in Nashville…Anybody else?)

I will definitely follow the male trend of watching football and drinking beer every weekend this season!” Sporting his shaved head, Anderson added, “I’m also not big on any of the new fall trends in hair styles.”
