Jake Owen Back on the Road & Headed to Chelsea Lately

Jake Owen

Jake Owen performed in front of a sold-out crowd his first weekend back out on the road after undergoing surgery on January 17th to repair his broken collarbone, due to a snowboarding accident.

“I’m thrilled to be back out on the road,” says Jake. “And to have a sold-out show our first weekend back is such an awesome feeling.” He performed Friday night (February 3) for a near sell-out crowd at Cowboy’s in Dallas, TX and Saturday night (February 4) for a sold-out crowd at Riverwind Casino in Norman, OK.

“I’m not very good at sitting around the house taking it easy,” Jake continues. “I had eight screws and a metal plate put in to repair my collarbone, so I’ve had to spend a lot of time at doctor’s appointments and physical therapy sessions over the past few weeks. Getting back out on stage was the best therapy I’ve had.”

On March 1st, Jake will be a guest on Chelsea Lately, hosted by Chelsea Handler, which airs at 11 p.m. ET on E!

“I can’t wait to meet Chelsea,” says Jake. “She’s fearless.”

Jake will be in attendance tonight at the Act of Valor exclusive movie premiere in Nashville. Jake co-wrote and recorded a song on the soundtrack for the upcoming feature film. Act of Valor is a motion picture starring active duty Navy Seals, in theatres February 24th.

Upcoming tour dates include:
2/9 – Ft Walton Beach, FL – The Block
2/10 – Orlando, FL – Old Florida Outdoor Festival
2/15 – Jackson, MS – Dixie National Rodeo
2/16 – Oxford, MS – The Lyric
2/17 – Tulsa, OK – Cain’s Ballroom

Jake Owen Rechedules Charity Concert

Jake Owen

The Jake Owen Concert, a highlight of Mardy’s Tennis & Jake’s Music Fest to Benefit the Mardy Fish Foundation and Jake Owen Foundation, has been rescheduled and will be held Saturday, April 7th at the Citrus Bowl/Billy Livings Field at Vero Beach High School in Vero Beach, Florida.

Jake will take a break from a busy tour schedule to return to his hometown once again to delight the local fans and raise funds for charity. Since the cancellation of the original Concert date, the Jake Owen Foundation has worked to secure a date as quickly as possible that is compatible with Owen’s schedule and that of the production team, while ensuring that the Concert is kept in Vero Beach, at a venue that can comfortably accommodate all attendees. All tickets issued for the original date of the Concert will be valid for the rescheduled date. All tickets that were held at Will Call for the original date will be available at Will Call on the rescheduled date. To arrange for Will Call tickets to be mailed, or for questions regarding ticketing, please phone Mardy’s Tennis & Jake’s Music Fest’s ticketing service at 866.333.7623.

The original concert was scheduled to be held at the Historic Holman Stadium at Vero Beach Sports Village, but was canceled due to public safety concerns caused by inclement weather. The Concert will increase awareness and raise revenues for the Foundations’ mission to assist youth in Indian River County.

To date, more than 2,000 students at 13 elementary schools participate in the Mardy Fish Foundation Achievable Dreams After School and Club Programs, and more than 1,000 children participate in Mardy’s Kids on Court. The Jake Owen Foundation also continues to assist youth who are battling childhood diseases through St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

“I am so excited to announce the new Concert date,” said Owen. “I apologize to everyone that was inconvenienced by the rescheduling of the Concert. I want to thank you all for your patience during this process. We have worked as quickly as we could to make this announcement, but we needed to make sure that we kept the Concert in Vero Beach, at a venue that was available and would accommodate the sold out crowd.”

Jake Owen Postpones Joe’s Bar Gigs for Surgery

Jake Owen

Last week while snowboarding, Jake Owen took an unlucky tumble on Friday the 13th, breaking his collar bone. He took to Twitter to reassure fans he would play upcoming shows no matter what. Unfortunately, Jake may have spoken a little too soon.

Yesterday, Jake met with a doctor who didn’t give Jake good news.

In the Dr. waiting on my sentence.. You know it’s not good when he comes in and says “That break is worse than the football teams”. Damn.

I guess I spoke too soon.. So sorry to my friends and fans. I’m going in for surgery tomorrow morning. My shows will be postponed. :(

Surgery scheduled for 1:30 tomorrow. Thx for all the well wishes. I’m getting a couple plates and pins put in. Sorry again for cancel show.

Jake’s January 18th and 18th shows at Joe’s Bar in Chicago are postponed until further notice due to the surgery he’ll be having this afternoon.

Good Well Soon Jake, we’d hate for you to miss any of the Brothers of the Sun tour dates with Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney.
