Holly Williams Engaged

Holly Williams is officially engaged.  Chris Coleman took Holly for a drive, picnic, and hike in Leipers Fork, Tn and surprised her with a ring…

“I dug up a beautiful wooden box with my favorite love quote on it,” Williams, 28, tells PEOPLE, “and the engagement date carved in roman numerals. He wood-burned the letters onto the box! He got on one knee and I opened the box, underneath the flowers and basil were the rings.”

Oh, how romantic!

CMT Fan Social is a Fan Success!

As you can tell already CMA Fest 2009 has been HUGE this year!  So many different events, artists and country music going on everywhere around you!  It is a country music lovers dream.

CMT had their 2nd Annual CMT Fan Social and put a fun little spin on it this year.   CMT would send clues to fans via Twitter and Facebook making them guess which venue they would get to see Eli Young Band, Gloriana, Emerson Drive, Holly Williams, Joey & Rory and Carter Twins play!

No surprise that it was not hard for fans to figure out where to line up.  From what I understand when the Carter Twins took the stage (at The Stage) at 3pm there was a line of about 200 people waiting outside to get a peek!

The show was high energy from start to finish.  With CMT’s Lance Smith hosting you know that you are in for a host of one liners and great prizes.  Lance gave away the farm yesterday.  Everything from the new Taylor Swift and Def Leppard DVD to the hat off his very own head!

The line up at the CMT Fan Social was TOP notch (better than the full lineup at LP Field last night if you ask me)!  With Carter Twins kicking off the day with songs like “So What”, “Reinvent the Wheel” and of coarse our favorite “Heart Like Memphis” you know that your afternoon was going to be full of talent!

Joey and Rory took the stage next and as always they oozed with love. With their classic country sound and fun tounge and cheek songs about cheating the crowd was full of applause and cheers for this cute couple. I even heard some fans saying that Joey + Rory are the next “Tim and Faith” of country music.

Emerson Drive was up next and we were able to meet a lot of their family members just before they got started.  The family was in town for the week all the way from Montreal and you could tell that Danick Dupelle has a very proud Papa and Grandpa. They did a very moving and uplifting montage of some of their most popular songs.

Up next was Holly Williams. My favorite part of her set was when her mother joined her on stage to sing a very moving song called “Mama”. Her new CD hits stores next week and you can preorder it on Amazon.com.

I was so excited to see Gloriana.  I love their song “Wild at Heart” and couldn’t wait to hear it live.  I have received so many emails from Taylor Swift fans who have seen Gloriana open during her “Fearless Tour” and they are falling in love with this beautiful foursome.  They have a certain energy to them that I haven’t seen in awhile.  They are young, fun and full of talent.  I can see why Taylor hand picked them to open for her.

Last BUT certainly not least was Eli Young Band. These guys are one of my favorite new groups.  I say new because I just recently listened to their album BUT these four strapping guys have been working very hard for the past eight years!  Their set was AMAZING – catch these guys out on the road!

Hank Williams Jr. Plays Tootsies

The famed Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge on Broadway in Nashville had a special guest recently when Hank Williams Jr. wowed the honkey-tonk crowd.  Hank performed his rowdy-party anthem “Family Tradition” then sat down in the front booth to hang with fans.

Hank was in town to accompany his daughter, Holly Williams, when she performed at The Grand Ole Opry.
