The City of Hope Celebrity Softball Challenge is a must-do activity during your visit to Music City for CMA Fest. Taking place on Saturday, June 9th at Greer Stadium, the Grand Ole Opry will take on After Midnight with Blair Garner. The team rosters have been announced, and it’s sure to be a fun game.

Jake Owen Added to Stars for Second Harvest Benefit!!!

Jake Owen and Florida Georgia Line have officially joined the line-up of performers for the 8th Annual Stars For Second Harvest benefit on Tuesday, June 5th, at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN.

Songwriters Dallas Davidson (“I Don’t Want This Night To End,” We Owned The Night,” Just A Kiss”) and Rodney Clawson (“Drink On It,” “Drunk On You,” “Amarillo Sky”) will join Craig Wiseman on stage for the songwriter round. Presented by The Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee and Hosted by acclaimed hit songwriter Craig Wiseman, this concert features unplugged acoustic style performances by some of country music’s brightest songwriters and a special performance by one of country biggest stars. Sponsored by O’Charley’s, this not-to-be missed evening helps to raise awareness of hunger issues in Tennessee. This is the 8th year for Craig Wiseman to host the show and the first year to host the event during CMA Fest.

More Performances Added to CMA Fest Nightly Concerts

More artists have been added to the Nightly Concerts at LP Field during 2012 CMA Music Festival, featuring two acoustic performance sets each night.

During Opening Ceremonies on Thursday, June 7, David Nail will perform the title track of his album The Sound of a Million Dreams with the previously-announced Nashville School of the Arts Chamber Choir (under the direction of Walter Bitner). The Nashville School of the Arts has been a recipient of funds from CMA’s Keep the Music Playing program, which benefits music education in Metro Nashville Public Schools. Having a father who is a highly regarded high school band director, taught Nail to be a life-long supporter of music education.

The current lineups for the Nightly Concerts are as follows in alphabetical order:

Thursday, June 7:
Full band performances: Jason Aldean, Glen Campbell, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley,and Zac Brown Band
Acoustic performances :Lauren Alaina and Kellie Pickler
Special performance: David Nail with the Nashville School of the Arts Chamber Choir (under the direction of Walter Bitner)

Tickets to the individual Nightly Concerts are $40 (plus applicable handling fees) for general admission in the upper deck of LP Field. Fans can purchase their tickets through Ticketmaster at Ticketmaster.com or 1 (800) 745-3000. They can also purchase them through CMAfest.com or 1 (800) CMA-FEST (262-3378).

Four-day ticket packages are also available, from only $125 per person plus handling fees. Four-day ticket package categories correspond to varying levels of seating at LP Field and include admittance to all four Nightly Concerts as well as all daytime Festival activities, including the Fan Fair Fall where artist autograph signing sessions are held. Vince Gill Added to 8th Annual Stars for Second Harvest Benefit

Vince Gill has officially joined the line-up of performers for the 8th annual Stars For Second Harvest benefit on Tuesday, June 5th at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN.

“Second Harvest Food Bank provides such blessings to so many people. I am honored to be a part of this event and grateful for the opportunity to be involved.”

Presented by The Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee and Hosted by acclaimed hit songwriter Craig Wiseman, this concert features an unplugged acoustic style performance by some of country music’s brightest songwriters and a special performance by one of country biggest stars. Sponsored by O’Charley’s, this not-to-be missed evening helps to raise awareness of hunger issues in Tennessee. In the last seven years, this event has raised $446,032 to feed the hungry in Middle Tennessee. Because each dollar provides four meals, the funds raised from the concert provided Second Harvest with the funds to supply 1,784,128 meals.

This is the 8th year for Craig Wiseman to host the show and the first year to host the event during CMA Fest.

Join in the first annual You’ve been Sentenced!—Country Music Edition during Country Music’s biggest week.

Celebrities will be seated to play the award-winning game on Thursday, June 7, from 2:00-4:30PM at the Hard Rock Café in the heart of the activities in downtown Nashville. The tournament brings together some of country music’s brightest stars who will play the word game to benefit the children’s charities Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the literacy organization Success Won’t Wait.

The outing offers the unique opportunity for country music fans to sit down beside their favorite celebrities and play the You’ve been Sentenced! card game or simply enjoy the action. Artists confirmed to date include: Jeff Bates, Ty Brown, Burns & Poe, Jason Michael Carroll, Buddy Jewell, Matt Kennon, Danni Leigh, LoCash Cowboys, Justin McBride, Jaclyn North, Julie Roberts, Doug Stone, Rhonda Vincent, Mark Wills and more. The game play will be followed by acoustic performances.

“We’ve always known that the country music industry has tremendous heart,” said McNeill Designs CEO, Don McNeill. “The interest and support shared by the community as a whole for this charity event has been overwhelming and it’s even more moving in consideration of the number of appearances, concerts and events these artists are juggling as part of their hectic CMA Fest schedules.”

Created to go above and beyond family fun, You’ve been Sentenced! has become an educational tool that is garnering rave reviews in homes, classrooms and educational facilities around the world and is now staged to reach a brand new audience. McNeill Designs for Brighter Minds, the game manufacturer, will officially introduce the You’ve been Sentenced! Country Music Edition to entertain the country music fan at the June 7 gathering. The anticipated retail delivery date for the country music version is August 2012—just in time for Christmas retail delivery.
