Country Music is Love Hosts 3rd Annual Concert for City of Hope

2012CMILPosterWebSize

Our friends over at CountryMusicIsLove.com have announced their 3rd Annual Benefit Concert benefiting City of Hope, one of the nation’s leading research, treatment and education centers for cancer and other life-threatening diseases. This year’s concert will feature acoustic performances by Micheal Ray, Chris Cavanaugh, Kristen Kelly, THE FARM, JT Hodges, Chuck Wicks, Love and Theft, Casey James, and Craig Campbell. Whitney Duncan will do double duty as host and performer for the second year in a row.

The cause hits close to home for many of the artists, including Casey James. “My family has been massively affected by cancer,” James shares. “My Paw-Paw passed away last year from cancer. My Nana passed away from cancer and my mother is a two-time cancer survivor, thyroid and breast. I can go on and on. There’s a large history of that in my family. Anything I can do to help and to do my part to make things better, I’ve always been into doing that, so it was an honor to be asked to come out and play. I’m excited to play the music and come see the fans, but most excited just to be a part of the whole thing.”

The 3nd Annual CountryMusicIsLove Concert benefiting City of Hope will be held February 21, 2012 at 7:30pm at Exit/In in Nashville, Tenn. Tickets are $15 and 100% of tickets sales will be donated to City of Hope. Tickets are available here: http://bit.ly/cmiltickets.

7. It’s interesting to think about how some of our most popular games/inventions came about. @BrettEldredge asks the hard questions for us “Interesting ideas..DARTS..”We should invent a game where you throw sharp darts at a board n the bar & people can get drunk & try to aim””

6. In the spirit of giving thanks, @ScottyMcCreery headed over to Children’s for a visit with the kids “Getting off the plane and heading to the Children’s Hospital to meet w/ some great kids!”

3. Even though she is only 21, @TaylorSwift13 has been in euphoria the last year. This week marked the end of the Speak Now tour, but she is grateful for the experience “I have so much to be thankful for this year. I’m leaving New York, replaying this tour in my mind. I love you all so much.”

2. It must be hard to get love from Miranda Lambert. @BlakeShelton posted this “Quote of the day.. “That’s what friends are for… So why don’t you go find yourself one?!!!” – Miranda Lambert”

1. Lauren Alaina may have messed up on the anthem, but country music is behind her! @KelliePickler tweeted this “IN A TIME WHERE BULLYING IS AT ITS WORST I’M SO DISAPPOINTED THAT GROWN MEN & WOMEN ARE RIPPING APART A 17YR OLD. WHEN PEOPLE FALL YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO HELP THEM UP, NOT KICK EM’ FURTHER DOWN. DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU. BE KIND.”
