2011 Crockettsville Charity Concert & Trail Ride Raises Over $80,000

Chad Warrix and David Tolliver, formerly of the country duo Halfway to Hazard along with Concerts 4 A Cause brought a revived demeanor to the small town of Crockettsville, KY this weekend after hosting the 2011 Crockettsville Charity Concert and Trail Ride to benefit children of adoption and foster care at Buckhorn Children and Family Services.

Along with artists Randy Houser, Keith Anderson, Christian Kane, Danielle Peck, Gabe Garcia, Craig Wayne Boyd, Larry Cordle and Lisa Torres they were able to raise over $80,000 — all of which goes straight to the kids.

The buzz of the event combined with the weekend’s pristine weather forecast recruited over 10,000 people to attend the concert on Saturday, August 27 at Abner Farm in Crockettsville, KY — nestled between Buckhorn and Jackson, KY where Chad Warrix grew up.

One of the event’s sponsors, Monster Energy Drinks, added a thrill of nail-biting excitement with a stunt show from all-star FreestyleMX riders and prepared event-goers for the next day’s 42-mile ATV trail ride through the dust and mud, which drew in over 500 celebrities and patrons this year.

“We couldn’t be happier with this year’s outcome,” said Chad Warrix. “The energy from all of the performers and audience was overwhelming and knowing that all of it was made possible by the volunteers from the local community who care so much about giving makes it that much more fulfilling.”

At the start of the trail ride on Sunday, August 28, the 500 participants formed a line and paraded past the Buckhorn Children & Family Services facility where hundreds of children and employees cheered on the riders with smiles and signs of appreciation.

“Being able to put a face on the cause reminds us why we’re all out here doing this,” said Warrix. “The smiles on those kids’ faces keep us all coming back year after year, and for as long as we have friends and fellow artists willing to participate, we’ll continue to do so for years to come.”

Performers and schedule for the 2012 Crockettsville Charity Concert & Trail Ride are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.  For more information on the event, visit www.crockettsville.com.

Christian Kane’s “Let Me Go” Blazes to No. 1 on CMT.com

Christian Kane raised the temperatures on the already-hot summer with the release of the video for his sophomore single “Let Me Go.” The steamy, angst-ridden song coupled with Kane’s first-rate acting skills brings the song to life, and fans are eating it up. The Roman White-directed love story debuted on Friday, August 5 at No. 2 and quickly rose to No. 1 on CMT.com and remained there throughout the weekend, beating out country video heavy hitters and their co-stars, including Brad Paisley (featuring Carrie Underwood); Jason Aldean; Kenny Chesney (featuring Grace Potter); and Miranda Lambert. “Have You Seen Christian Kane’s New Video? Fans can’t get enough of his sexy new video, ‘Let Me Go,’” advocates CMT’s feature block.

The country power ballad from Kane’s rowdy, debut album, “The House Rules,” tells a vivid and relatable story of the challenges and surprises that come with being in love. “I believe this ballad speaks to everyone,” says Kane. “Women are always smarter than us, but we never listen…they seem to always know what’s better for us than we do.”

Shot on location in the desert of East Lancaster, California, the video was directed by the legendary Roman White, whose credits include videos for Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Reba McEntire, Justin Bieber and Martina McBride, as well as the 2011 CMT Music Award for “Video of the Year” for Taylor Swift’s hit “Mine.” Passionate about storytelling, White has been nominated for 11 Emmy awards and has taken home three. White and Kane previously worked together on the 2007 Carrie Underwood video for “So Small.”

“[Let Me Go”] is one of my favorite powerful songs on the album,” says Kane. “I never sing about stuff I don’t know about. It’s just not me.” While Kane’s acting credentials are second to none, it is clear that his performance in the video goes beyond acting. “This one hits way close to home,” confirms Kane.

“Let Me Go” is holding strong on the fan-voted site, CMT.com, and Kane says he is grateful for the support of loyal Kaniacs and the dramatically increasing legion of fans who have voted for the video.

Christian Kane Releases Second Single, “Let Me Go” Today

On the heels of the season-four premiere of the hit television series “Leverage” on TNT, Christian Kane releases his much-anticipated second single, “Let Me Go,” on July 11, 2011, announced today by Bigger Picture Group. The song tells a vivid and relatable story of the challenges and surprises that come with being in love. “Let Me Go” was one of only three songs on the album that Kane did not have a hand in writing.

“This song spoke to me [through] personal experiences and gives me chills to this day [when I sing it]. I followed Casey Beathard around town begging to get this song. He finally said yes and it fit perfectly into [the story of my] journey while [also] being utterly relatable to anyone who has selfishly, unselfishly let someone go for the better of both. I had to have this on the album for the simple fact [that] it was the missing piece to the eclectic, yet one page puzzle, that is ‘The House Rules,’” said Kane.

The moving lyrics coupled with Kane’s powerful narrative vocals paint an authentic picture of a couple on the brink of big changes while capturing both vantage points; the effect is simultaneously heartbreaking and hopeful.

Though the native Oklahoma country singer is most well-known for his role as “Eliot” on TNT’s “Leverage,” where he choreographs all his own fight scenes, he dedicated time to focus his attention on his first love: music and his budding music career.

“I’m from Oklahoma, and country music has always been first and foremost in my heart,” said Kane. “I am truly fortunate to be able to do something that I love and to have such supportive fans.”

Country Music Artists Lend a Hand to TJ Martell Foundation Best Cellars Dinner in Atlanta and Houston

L-R: Laura Heatherly, Executive Director of the T.J. Martell Foundation; Bigger Picture recording artist and actor Christian Kane, of TNT’s Leverage; Robert Del Grande, Executive Chef/Owner of RDG +Bar Annie in Houston; Music City Records recording artist, Charley Pride, MCA recording artist, Lee Ann Womack; Dean Fearing, Executive Chef/Owner of Fearing’s in Dallas and recording artist Gary Morris.

The T.J. Martell Foundation’s Best Cellars Dinners held recently in Atlanta and Houston brought together celebrities, top chefs and wine collectors to raise funds for innovative cancer research at two chief research centers: The Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

The Best Cellars Dinner is one of the Foundation’s signature events that is known for pairing Best Sellers (music’s top selling artists) with Best Cellars (top wine collectors) plus an extraordinary gourmet meal prepared by a guest chef. This intimate, premier event was started in 1999 by Nashville wine enthusiast and record industry executive Billy Ray Hearn who had the idea to bring together great friends with incredible wine cellars to share their wine with guests combined with a special gourmet meal prepared by a nationally known guest chef. To date, the Best Cellars Dinners combined have raised more than $2.7 million for innovative cancer research.

“I really enjoyed participating in the Best Cellars Celebrity Dinner in Houston for the T.J. Martell Foundation,” said Christian Kane. “It is important to be involved with an organization that raises funds for all types of cancer research. So many people have been affected by cancer and we need to do everything we can to help find a control and cure.”
