The Bobby Bones Show started their Pimpin’ Joy Week today, March 3rd and will continue through the 7th. On the heels of the program’s one-year anniversary entertaining Country radio listeners nationwide, as well as being co-honored with the 2014 Academy of Country Music Award in the “National On-Air Personality of the Year” category, the week-long celebration will feature special guest appearances and live performances by Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Jake Owen, Sheryl Crow, Gloriana, Thomas Rhett, Charlie Worsham ,A Great Big World and others.
Created by The Bobby Bones Show, which launched nationwide on Country radio in February 2013 and currently reaches more than two million weekly listeners on more than 60 stations, Pimpin’ Joy is a movement dedicated to inspiring people to choose joy, spread happiness, and do good things for others. It was first launched to honor co-host Amy and her mother Judy, who has been battling Cancer for two years. Throughout their struggle, both women made a conscious effort to not let hardship or difficulty cause them to lose hope or positivity in their lives – instead, they choose to be happy, pass on joy, and influence others to do the same.
To date, thousands of supporters have shared their Pimpin’ Joy efforts via Twitter and Instagram using #PIMPINJOY. In addition, Country artist Walker Hayes recently wrote and dedicated a song to the effort called “Joy Like Judy,” which can be heard below.
Bones stated, “It’s awesome to see the Country community come together for a cause that is so important to us and our listeners. There is too much negativity in the world today, and this week is all about making a conscious effort to choose joy, and promote happiness.”
