Stoney Creek Records, along with Ash Bowers, present a “Homegrown Hero” contest to recognize and reward a local hero who has significantly impacted a community. The online contest will start May 30 and will end on July 1 on Facebook.com/AshBowers.
The contest was inspired by the lyrics found in Bower’s new single, “I Still Believe In That,”
(Our heroes and our idols were homegrown/ Didn’t find them on no TV show/ They were our teachers and our preachers/ Our soldier’s, moms and dads / I still believe in that.)
To enter, fans will need to nominate their local hero by submitting a short essay (150 words or less) explaining what makes them a homegrown hero. They can do this on Ash Bower’s Facebook page. The prize winning-hero will receive a $5,000 cash prize. *
“I Still Believe In That” is quickly becoming a recognizable anthem that reminds all of us about American values. Just in time for CMA Festival and for a limited time only, Stoney Creek Records will offer country music fans a FREE single download. Ash Bowers of Stoney Creek Records is a good ol’ country boy, made evident in his new single “I Still Believe In That.” It’s just one of those songs that makes you feel good when you hear it. Anyone who prefers an old-fashioned way of life over the glitz and glamour of Hollywood will appreciate the lyrics. Do you still say “yes, sir” and “yes, ma’am” and take your hat off at the dinner table? He does. He also talks about the importance being an honest, God-fearing man or woman whose word is better than a signature on a piece of paper.
