Whitney Duncan Gets Hitched

Earlier this week, Whitney Duncan and fiance Keith Tollefson tied the knot in Tennessee. The country singer shared details of her day on Instagram, including a beautiful butter cream frosted cake.

Country music artist, Whitney Duncan, recently participated in the Women’s Running Nashville Half Marathon + 5K presented by Publix. Over 4,000 runners enjoyed many of Nashville’s most historic sites like Centennial Park, The Parthenon and Nashville’s world-renowned Music Row and an expansive finish line festival along Nashville Walk of Fame Park.

Duncan, who is currently in the studio working on new music with Paul Worley and Dave Haywood, kicked off the race by singing the National Anthem. In addition, Whitney ran the 5K race to raise awareness for the ongoing search efforts for her cousin Holly Bobo. The 20 year old Bobo was abducted from her Darden, Tennessee home on April 13th, 2011. Whitney’s finish time was 25:39:00, running an approximately eight (8) minute mile pace and finishing in fourth place.

Race organizers of the Women’s Running Series are pleased to announce that Country music artist, Whitney Duncan, will participate in the Women’s Running Nashville Half Marathon + 5K on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 7:00 a.m. CST.

Whitney will run the 5K race to raise awareness for the ongoing search efforts for her cousin Holly Bobo. The 20 year old Bobo was abducted from her Darden, Tennessee home on April 13, 2011. Runners and fans who join Whitney on race day will receive $10 off their race registration. For more information on Holly Bobo and the search can be found at www.FindingHollyBobo.com

“I know the motivation and drive it requires to keep going when you’re tired and want to give up. Last year when I ran the half marathon, I personally experienced other women cheering me on and that’s truly inspiring,” says Duncan. She adds, “I’m honored to be able to help continue the search for my dear cousin, Holly, through my passion for running and physical fitness.”

“Our mission is to support women and give them confidence as they mentally and physically prepare for race day,” commented Dana Allen, General Manager of the Women’s Running Series. “Whitney’s personal story and commitment to finding her missing cousin will certainly resonate with our runners and will be a motivating way for them to make it to the finish line.”

In addition, Duncan, who is currently in the studio working on new music with Paul Worley and Dave Haywood, will kick off the race by singing the National Anthem for the more than 5,000 participants that are expected at the start line at the Country Music Hall of Fame.

The Women’s Running Nashville Half Marathon + 5K presented by Publix will begin at 7:00 a.m. Runners will enjoy many of Nashville’s most historic sites like Centennial Park, The Parthenon and Nashville’s world-renowned Music Row and an expansive finish line festival along Nashville Walk of Fame Park.

Runners will kickoff race weekend at the Health & Fitness Expotique on Thursday, September 26 and Friday, September 27. The expo is free and open to the public and takes place at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel bringing together nearly 100 exhibitors offering the best in gear, nutrition, and training.

Craig Campbell’s Innaugural Celebrity Cornhole Challenge a Huge Success

Rising country music star Craig Campbell kicked off CMA Fest with a bang by hosting his inaugural Celebrity Cornhole Challenge. Craig and his celebrity friends competed in a cornhole tournament to raise money for the TJ Martell Foundation’s colon cancer research in honor of Craig’s late father who passed away from colon cancer at the age of 36.

The event took place Tuesday June 4th at the Public Square in Downtown Nashville, and featured many of Craig’s celebrity friends, including Bridgette Tatum, Dean Alexander, James Wesley, Ryan Kinder, Big D & Bubba, Chase Rice, THE FARM, Gloriana, Greg Bates, Jerrod Niemann, LoCash Cowboys, Love and Theft, Rachel Bradshaw, Whitney Duncan, Australian duo Baylou, GAC’s Suzanne Alexander, Titans Kicker Rob Bironas, and Storme Warren as emcee. A few lucky fans bid on the chance to play in the tournament alongside their favorite celebs. Campbell and his teammate Eric Lindsey proudly posed for photos with fans and their trophies after taking the top spot in the tournament. Second place went to Brad McDonald and Corey Hadley, third to LoCash Cowboys, and fourth to Bigger Picture artist Ryan Kinder and Bigger Picture President, Michael Powers.

In addition to watching their favorite celebs battle it out with beanbags, fans also enjoyed great musical performances from Baylou, Rachel Bradshaw, Ryan Kinder, Jerrod Niemann, and Craig himself closing out the event with a crowd-pleasing performance of his hit “Fish”. The event was a huge success, collecting more than $15,000 with proceeds benefitting the TJ Martell Foundation.

“I’m immensely grateful to all my fans and friends who came out to take part in my first Celebrity Cornhole Challenge. It meant a lot to have so much support in our efforts to toss out colon cancer,” says Campbell. “We are already making plans for next year’s event, and I’m strategizing how to land a win again in year two!”

As Campbell wraps his first Cornhole Challenge and begins planning for next year, he is also excited about his lead single “Outta My Head” climbing into the top 25 on the Billboard Country chart. Written by Brandon Kinney, Cole Swindell, and Michael Carter, the song is featured on his recently released sophomore album NEVER REGRET, available now everywhere music is sold.
