Dan +Shay Announce ‘Obsessed Tour’ with Walker Hayes!

dan and shay

Earlier today, “From The Ground Up,” the impactful first song released from Dan + Shay’s critically acclaimed sophomore album, Obsessed, hit No. 1 on both the Mediabase and Billboard Country Charts. So what better way to celebrate than  to announce the Obsessed Tour. Earning its name from the title of their hit album and its title track, which was directly inspired by fans, the headlining tour will also feature special guest singer/songwriter Walker Hayes. The Obsessed Tour kicks off Nov. 10th in Denver, Colorado and will hit 15 cities across the U.S. and Canada through Dec. 17th, including their first ever tour stop in Honolulu, Hawaii.

“We have been so humbled by the response to our new album, and can’t wait to perform live for our fans this fall,” said Dan Smyers. “Our fans inspired the title of the Obsessed album, so it was only fitting to name the tour after the album.”

“We are also so grateful to everyone for help making ‘From The Ground Up’ No. 1,” added Shay Mooney. “This is such a personal song for both of us, and we are thrilled that people have loved the song as much as we do.”

The tour is the perfect ending to what has been a monumental year for Dan + Shay. Earlier this year, the duo released their second album, Obsessed, whose first single, “From The Ground Up,” was an immediate hit. The pair debuted the song on Good Morning America and has since performed it on Live With Kelly, Dancing With the Stars, The Bachelorette and The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The song marks the second No. 1 for the duo in less than a year, and also the first No. 1 song produced by Smyers, along with Scott Hendricks.

The Bobby Bones Show Celebrates Pimpin’ Joy Week

11253_1392898473

The Bobby Bones Show started their Pimpin’ Joy Week today, March 3rd and will continue through the 7th. On the heels of the program’s one-year anniversary entertaining Country radio listeners nationwide, as well as being co-honored with the 2014 Academy of Country Music Award in the “National On-Air Personality of the Year” category, the week-long celebration will feature special guest appearances and live performances by Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Jake Owen, Sheryl Crow, Gloriana, Thomas Rhett, Charlie Worsham ,A Great Big World and others.

Created by The Bobby Bones Show, which launched nationwide on Country radio in February 2013 and currently reaches more than two million weekly listeners on more than 60 stations, Pimpin’ Joy is a movement dedicated to inspiring people to choose joy, spread happiness, and do good things for others. It was first launched to honor co-host Amy and her mother Judy, who has been battling Cancer for two years. Throughout their struggle, both women made a conscious effort to not let hardship or difficulty cause them to lose hope or positivity in their lives – instead, they choose to be happy, pass on joy, and influence others to do the same.

To date, thousands of supporters have shared their Pimpin’ Joy efforts via Twitter and Instagram using #PIMPINJOY. In addition, Country artist Walker Hayes recently wrote and dedicated a song to the effort called “Joy Like Judy,” which can be heard below.

Bones stated, “It’s awesome to see the Country community come together for a cause that is so important to us and our listeners. There is too much negativity in the world today, and this week is all about making a conscious effort to choose joy, and promote happiness.”

Walker Hayes’ “Feet” on Rodney Atkins’ New Album

Rodney Atkins‘ new album, Take A Back Road will hit stores on October 4th. There’s song that’s a little familiar to me, but I couldn’t quite figure it out. Well, it turns out, one of our favorite up-and-coming artists, Walker Hayes, has a cut on the album. “Feet” narrates a fight between a man and woman, that can all made better with the touch of their feet.

You can preview Rodney’s version here.
