“We are beyond excited for The Highway to be playing our song “Hey Whiskey,” said Trey and Jennifer. “It has always been such a special song to us and we can’t wait for everyone to hear it on the radio!”

Not only did “Nothing but the Night” sell over 1,500 downloads per week during its duration on SiriusXM, but it also remained in the top 15 for 13 weeks on the SXM Hot 30 Countdown. Smithfield is currently touring across the country and has upcoming dates with Craig Campbell, Jana Kramer, Brothers Osborne and more.

Smithfield Raises $30,000 at Hometown Concert

smithfield

Country music duo, Smithfield returned to their home state of Texas for a special concert benefitting the father of one-half of the duo, Jennifer. They were shown an overwhelming amount of love and support from their community, raising over $30,000 at the first annual ‘Country for a Cause’ concert. FOX’s Good Day Dallas welcomed the duo in support of the benefit and they treated viewers to a performance of the SiriusXM The Highway chart topper, “Nothing but the Night.”

Jennifer’s father, Jack Fiedler went into cardiac arrest earlier this year, which left him unable to work, and in a rehabilitation facility for the foreseeable future. When the families insurance cut off ongoing care that was and is crucial for Fiedler’s full recovery, the duo decided to take matters into their own hands and put on a benefit concert. Hosted by KPLX 99.5 The Wolf’s Skip Mahaffey, Smithfield sold over 700 tickets to the show. To make a donation to the cause, click HERE.

Emerging duo Smithfield had the honor of making their Grand Ole Opry debut on Saturday, May 7th.

“Stepping into the circle Saturday night was one of the most exciting and rewarding moments of our lives and a true milestone in our careers. We will cherish the honor of taking the Grand Ole Opry stage forever!”- Smithfield.

Smithfield is the combined forces of Trey and Jennifer who performed their single “Good Ol’ Days” along with powerful ballad “Hey Whiskey” on the coveted Opry stage. Leading up to the performance, the Texas natives filmed behind-the-scenes video at the Opry (to be released at a later date) and took over the Opry’s Twitter account.

After making the move to Nashville in 2012, the duo quickly began honing their sound, writing and recording. The recent release of their eight-track EP led them to garner national media attention by highly respected outlets including People.com and the Huffington Post. The entire EP is available on iTunes HERE and the music video can be viewed HERE.

Make sure to keep an eye out on CMTT later this week for our interview with Jennifer and Trey just an hour before they made their Opry debut.
