Artists and Celebrities Gather for the Annual Christmas 4 Kids Tour Bus Show Tomorrow (Dec. 12)

Christmas 4 Kids

The Christmas 4 Kids organization is once again spreading holiday cheer to hundreds of underprivileged children throughout the Middle Tennessee. The Annual Tour Bus Show and Artist Meet & Greet will be held at the Hendersonville Wal-Mart located at 204 North Anderson Lane from 5:00PM – 9:00PM.

For a small donation, fans can visit the tour buses of more than fifty artists and celebrities and many artists will be present to sign autographs and give the fans an inside look at their mobile home-away-from-home. All proceeds from the event will go to Christmas 4 Kids, a not-for-profit organization that has been in existence for over 25 years which provides underprivileged children with the funds to shop and purchase Christmas gifts for family and loved ones–something most have never had the opportunity to do before. For more information on Christmas 4 Kids, please visit, Christmas4kids.org.

Funds generated by this year’s annual concert featuring Charlie Daniels and the Tour Bus Show event will provide over 400 children from 29 different schools a day-long shopping excursion. The special day consists of a chauffeured trip from their school aboard an entertainer’s luxury tour bus, lunch and a party hosted by Santa and Mrs. Claus at College Heights Baptist Church. It’s time to Deck the Hall: The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum is gearing up for the holiday season with a sleigh full of programs and events for the whole family, limited-edition holiday posters from Hatch Show Print and money-saving offers from the Museum Store.

The festivities will officially kick off on Friday, November 25, with the lighting of the museum’s Christmas tree; hit recording artist Jimmy Wayne will be on hand to lead the festivities and perform. Musical performances will be plentiful in the weeks ahead, including concerts by Grammy and CMA Award winner Suzy Bogguss, who will perform a mix of holiday tunes and songs recorded with and/or inspired by Chet Atkins on December 10 (This program is presented in conjunction with the museum’s exhibition Chet Atkins: Certified Guitar Player.); and Riders in the Sky, who will bring holiday cheer with a seasonal concert on December 17. And, on December 3 and 10, Hatch Show Print staff will offer one of the museum’s most popular family programs, Make Letterpress Art with Hatch Show Print. Youths aged six to 18 will be able to design their own holiday card using wood blocks from the Hatch archive. Many programs are free; others are included with museum admission and free to museum members. Additional details and a comprehensive list of all museum holiday-themed programs and events are below.

America’s Favorite Cowboys Immortalized on Nashville’s Wall of Fame

On Tuesday, August 2, The Palm restaurant paid tribute to two-time Grammy Award-winners, Riders In The Sky, with a mural on the famous walls of the exclusive downtown eatery.

Rider’s guitarist, Ranger Doug, had this to say: “Sports stars, movie stars, country music stars, Nashville’s most vivid personalities…the only thing missing among the Palm’s portraits was singing cowboys. What an honor and a delight to be the ones chosen, and I’m happy to see our smiling faces beaming down upon the very well satisfied diners at Nashville’s premier dining experience.” Well-fed bass player Too Slim said: “Like The Palm restaurant, we’ve been ‘bringing good beef to hungry people’ our entire career, so it’s a delightful honor to have our portraits etched onto those august, celebrity-adorned walls. Lucky diners can now gaze upon our ageless faces, contemplating our juxtaposition with Warren Beatty, as they dig into the finest grub east of Pecos River.”

This honor comes as the never-ending trail drive continues with the release of their long-awaited inspirational CD, The Land Beyond The Sun, out Tuesday August 9th. The CD presents a collection of songs of inspiration recorded in the western tradition that their legion of fans expect, along with a poem indicative of “America’s Favorite Cowboys’” left-field humor which has been their trademark for nearly three and a half decades!
