Restless Heart LEAPS to Salute Glen Campbell

Restless Heart

Legendary country music group Restless Heart is honoring one of its musical heroes with the Leap Day release of their new single, the Glen Campbell classic, “Wichita Lineman.”

The song, written by Jimmy Webb and co-produced by Harry Smith and Restless Heart’s Dave Innis, is the band’s first new music release in nearly three years.

“This is one of our finest collaborations as a band,” Innis tells Rolling Stone Country.  “Each one of us put our own personal touch on this track, vocally and musically.  Since all of the Restless Heart guys are such big admirers of Glen, it’s nice that we finally took his suggestion 30 years later and cut a Jimmy Webb song!”

Three decades ago at a show in St. Louis on a Mississippi riverboat, it was Campbell who originally planted the seed for Restless Heart to record a Jimmy Webb-penned tune.

“We had some time to relax on the boat before our performances,” recalls Innis.  “Glen was telling stories and at one point he said, ‘You guys should cut a Jimmy Webb song.'”

“We were blessed to work with Glen on a number of show dates throughout the years,” says Restless Heart’s Larry Stewart.  “It is an honor to know one of the finest talents of our time.  In honor of Glen, Restless Heart could record no greater song than ‘Wichita Lineman.'”

Restless Heart’s version of “Wichita Lineman” is available for download today at iTunes, Google Play and CD Baby.  Listen now by clicking HERE.

Restless Heart & Friends Unite for Benefit Concert to Fight Hunger in Middle Tennessee

Restless Heart will take the stage with friends Charlie McCoy and Michael Lington on September 22nd, 2015 at the historic Franklin Theatre for a very special cause. The evening of music with Restless Heart & Friends will shine a spotlight on the issue of hunger in Middle Tennessee while raising funds for One Generation Away – a non-profit organization dedicated to the idea that we are just one generation away from eliminating racism, denominationalism and poverty in America. All we have to do is act.

“One in four children and one in six of the general population, often the elderly, are going hungry, and it’s in our power to do something,” stated founder Chris Whitney. “There’s no doubt we can all make a huge difference to families in need. For every dollar donated, we can purchase $16 of retail food. In addition, the artists are generously donating their time and talent, and Jay Ellis of HALO Heating and Cooling graciously donated the evening at The Franklin Theatre. These blessings show we’re on the right track.”

Restless Heart’s Dave Innis and his wife Adrienne offered their full support after hearing about the organization through their church. “Restless Heart is humbled to be a part of promoting such an amazing organization as One Generation Away.” said Innis. “Lending our time and talents seems like a small thing in comparison to the hard working volunteers who are providing groceries to families in need. We are on board to help OneGen get the word out about who they are and what they are doing, so that they can expand their mission throughout the state and beyond: Wiping hunger off the face of America.”

The event will also include a VIP Meet & Greet from 6:30 – 7:30 pm for event sponsors featuring the exciting new group No Signal, plus a Silent Auction featuring one-of-a-kind memorabilia and experiences. All proceeds go to support One Generation Away and Tennessee families. Tickets on sale to the public Saturday, July 25th at the historic Franklin Theatre. Doors open at 7:30 pm, showtime at 8 pm.

The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame (OMHOF) announced that legendary country music group Restless Heart will be included in its 2015 class of inductees. Restless Heart’s Paul Gregg, Dave Innis and Greg Jennings are all natives of the Sooner State.

Becky Hobbs, Tim DuBois, Scott Hendricks and Smiley Weaver are also set to be inducted at this year’s ceremony.
