Randy Rogers Band to host Golf Jam 10.10

Randy Rogers Band will host its 8th annual Golf Jam and concert on Mon., Oct. 10, 2016 at River Crossing Club (500 River Way) in Spring Branch, TX, just outside of San Antonio. This year’s event is held in partnership with Y100 and benefits the Boot Campaign, whose mission is to promote patriotism for America and its military community; raise awareness of the unique challenges service members face during and post-service; and provide assistance to military personnel, past and present, and their families.

“We are thrilled to be able to raise funds to help the Boot Campaign continue their mission and new assistance program, ReBoot, which focuses on increasing mental and physical well-being for our military heroes, lead by our good friend Lieutenant (Ret.) Morgan Luttrell, U.S. Navy,” Randy Rogers Band member Les Lawless says. “We could not be more proud to be raising funds to help those who have fought on the battle fields for our freedoms, so that they can regain the positive mental health they deserve.”

Charity and community service have always been important to the Randy Rogers Band, which is why the group felt it important to begin hosting an annual event, specifically for the purpose of benefiting various deserving charitable organizations. Since the golf tournament’s inception in 2009, the Randy Rogers Band has raised close to half a million dollars, for various charities across the state of Texas.

The three-man scramble will take place during the day, and the Randy Rogers and friends concert will kick off at 7 PM CST. Additional performances will be announced soon.
Golfer registration and concert tickets go on sale Friday, August 26th at 10 AM CST. Concert tickets start at $20 and VIP packages are available. Individual player tickets are $200 and include golf, a ticket to the Concert Jam, food, drinks and prizes. Randy Rogers Band Shares Their Red, White & Blue Playlist

In lieu of Randy Rogers Band’s favorite holiday, the six-piece has compiled a patriotic playlist that embodies the spirit of their collective tastes and festive jams for the long weekend.

The tunes range from Willie Nelson classics to Bruce Springsteen anthems, Jimmy Buffett beach jams to Tom Petty staples, and everything in-between.

The group had some fun picking their favorites, as guitarist Geoffrey Hill says, “‘Cheeseburger in Paradise’ might not be specifically American, but there’s nothing more American than grillin up some burgers. And, just like Buffet, I like mine with lettuce and tomato.”

Randy Rogers Band’s “Undeniable” Sound ‘Shines’ on Current Single

“Full of earnest lyrics and meaningful melodies,” ‘Nothing Shines Like Neon’ (1.15) reflects the “sultry sexiness that is undeniably Randy Rogers Band” (No Depression).

On the album’s current single, “San Antone,” penned by Keith Gattis (George Strait, Randy Houser, Ashley Monroe), the six-piece band wraps its “wonderfully roughed-up, morning-after voices,” around lyrics in a way that “doesn’t sound hung over or heartbroken,” but transports you to “an aching daydream about an Alamo City homecoming long overdue.” It makes you “pine for faraway places, sympathize, then transport you there” (Chris Richards, The Washington Post).

The track that The Washington Post praises “feels like Texas” is available here.

Currently on its ‘Neon’ tour, the band brings its “unapologetic authenticity” (Rolling Stone Country) to major Texas markets, inlcuding Austin, Houston and Odessa. A complete list of dates is available at

Boozy Antics Inspired Randy Rogers Band’s New Music Video for ‘Neon Blues’

Randy Rogers has seen plenty of bar banter from the stage while performing across the country with his band – and now he’s singing about it.

“Neon Blues,” Randy Rogers Band‘s first single from their new album Nothing Shines Like Neon, “is about the pretty girl at the bar trying to just enjoy her drink,” Rogers tells PEOPLE exclusively. “It never happens, though.”

The band recruited a few fellow Texans to tell the tale in the video. Says Rogers: “Basically our single friends joined us to reenact what we see happening from the stage most nights.”

The crooner’s buddies Willy Braun (of Reckless Kelly) and singer William Clark Green play a couple of sleazy bar flies, each making an unsuccessful play for a woman. After Braun gets a smackdown and Green receives a drink in the face, in walks Ray Benson, the 6’7” lead singer of Western swing band Asleep at the Wheel. Moments later, he walks out again – this time, accompanied by the beauty.

Rogers merely observes the happenings from a bar stool in the video –

“I’m accounted for,” the married singer explains – but says there was no question Benson would come out the winner. “Ray always gets the ladies,” he says.

Rogers says the story of a booze-fueled roadhouse romance fits perfectly with the theme of the band’s new album, which is all about “dancing and drinking and the possibility of a new love or losing that love.”
