Maren Morris covers this week’s “Grammys 2017 Preview” issue of Billboard alongside Alessia Cara and Chance the Rapper. The three young stars sat for an in-depth interview discussing everything from politics to racism.
During the interview, Morris opens up about who she’s voting for in the election this year, stating: “I have to go with Hillary just because I can’t stand Trump.” She also goes on to discuss the one thing she’d like to change in society explaining: “Fine arts education in public schools is really abysmal. The same emphasis should be put on music, theater, dance — anything creative — that’s put on math and science.”
The country star also reflects on the best piece of advice she’s received: “Natalie Hemby, a big writer in Nashville, told me, ‘Don’t be an asshole on the way up and don’t be an asshole on the way down.'” She also chooses between Adele & Beyoncé for album of the year.
