Kristy Lee Cook made a strong reappearance at country radio yesterday when her new single, “Wherever Love Goes” (featuring Randy Houser) debuted as one of the Top 5 Most Added records on the Mediabase Country Singles chart. “Wherever Love Goes” earned 20 impactful adds in several key markets such as Atlanta, Minneapolis, St. Louis, Portland and San Antonio.

“Wherever Love Goes” displays the commanding, yet tender vocals that proved Cook’s indisputable talent while competing during Season 7 of American Idol. The result is a heart-wrenching vocal boxing match between two of Country music’s most resilient voices. The single was co-written by Nashville songwriting heavyweights Paul Jenkins, Jason Sellers and Neil Thrasher.

“I could not have asked for a better vocal match to record my new single with, or a stronger group of songwriters to have created it! I am eternally grateful to country radio for its continued support,” said Cook. “I hope that fans and listeners feel the same connection I felt when we first recorded ‘Wherever Love Goes’ in the studio.”

“I love the message this song delivers and was very proud to sing it with Kristy Lee. She sang her butt off, and I want to thank her for that!” said Houser.

Produced by Derek George and Mickey Jack Cones, the newly recorded version of “Wherever Love Goes” (the original appears on Houser’s current album, How Country Feels) is available at iTunes.
