Kenny Rogers Announces His 35th Annual And Final Christmas & Hits Tour

By: Piper Ferguson

By: Piper Ferguson

Since the release of Kenny Rogers’ first-ever Christmas album back in 1981 titled Christmas, Rogers has embarked on an annual Christmas & Hits Tour where he performs holiday favorites and a large selection of hits at concerts across North America.

Rogers announced late last year on NBC’s Today show that the world tour he is currently on would be his final time performing around the globe. So this year’s 35th edition of his annual Christmas & Hits tour, with special guest Linda Davis, will indeed be his last. After more than five decades of touring and entertaining the world, Rogers’ farewell tour, “The Gambler’s Last Deal,” is underway and expected to run into 2017 due to popular demand.

“Christmas has always been a special time of year to me,” Rogers said. “The feeling I get performing on the Christmas tour is one of the things I’ll really miss about not being on the road. We will be sure to take extra time to cherish some moments on this last go around, and I hope as many people as possible will be able to join us in creating a new set of holiday memories.”

For his upcoming Christmas & Hits tour dates, Rogers will perform holiday favorites, selections from his 2015 Christmas album Once Again It’s Christmas and of course his well-known hits at concerts across the U.S. The tour currently includes 16 dates. Making this final Christmas tour experience even more special, a very limited number of VIP ticket packages will be offered, allowing fans the opportunity to meet Rogers and receive one-of-a-kind memorabilia. Two types of VIP packages will be available for each show of the tour. For more information, visit: www.kennyrogers.com.

“The Gambler’s Last Deal” concerts feature an all-new show, including a reflective look back through Rogers’ storied 50-plus-year career. Enhanced with personal stories, vintage photos and video clips—including never-before-seen footage—the music-filled retrospective will touch on every part of Rogers’ career. Along with his long list of hits, Rogers is singing songs in concert that he hasn’t performed in years. The show is produced by veteran producer Kelly Junkermann.

Rogers has sold more than 120 million albums worldwide. He has charted a record within each of the last seven decades. The first country artist to consistently sell out arenas, Rogers achieved pop superstardom as well — his 28 Billboard Adult Contemporary Top 10’s rank him fourth-best of all time among men, trailing only Elton John, Neil Diamond, and Elvis Presley. Rogers has recorded 24 No. 1 hits, 12 No. 1 albums, 25 Top 10 country albums and is the RIAA’s eighth best-selling male solo artist of all time. The Country Music Hall of Fame member has received three GRAMMY® Awards, 11 People’s Choice Awards, 19 American Music Awards, eight Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards and six Country Music Association (CMA) Awards, among many other accolades.

Kenny Rogers Old Beaver Dam Farm is Up For Auction

Kenny Rogers

America’s favorite Gambler’s career has spanned over half a century and is still going strong for his farewell tour. Kenny Rogers is retiring after performances covering the United States, Ireland, Philippines, Thailand and the United Kingdom. A career that began in the 1950s as a teen rocker and a folk singer in the ‘60s is folding his cards, The Gambler’s Last Deal tour, as one of the best-selling country musicians of all time.

Unlike so many other superstars claiming “last tours,” Rogers at age 77, really means it. As he said in an interview with USA Today,

“I accomplished much more than I ever set out to do. When you run out of things to reach for, then you might as well hang it up and say thank you.”

Kenny’s ballads such as “Islands in the Stream” and “Lady” have sold over 120 million albums worldwide with 24 number one singles and multiple Lifetime Achievement Awards and election to the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Beaver Dam Farms located just outside of Athens, Georgia and 90 minutes from Atlanta, was conceived, designed and built by Rogers as his dream home. Spread out within its 973 acres, the property consists of three private spring-fed lakes, a 12,000-square-foot mansion, five guest houses and clubhouse, lake clubhouse, and over two acres under roof equestrian/multipurpose arena with 44 stalls, two swimming pools, two clay tennis courts, and an 18-hole championship-rated golf course. Other details include streams with waterfalls, woodland trails for walking or riding, gardens, well-stocked fishing lake, two gyms, movie theater, billiards room, conference center and a total of 20 bedrooms.

In 2003, Rogers sold the property to Weston Adams who was also owner of a guest ranch and sportsman’s lodge in Colorado. The Adams family used it as a private home in the first years and then turned it into a resort with full accommodations, spa services and event rentals. When Adams died in 2011, the family moved to the West Coast and felt it was time to sell. Close to his heart, Kenny Rogers is taking an active part in helping to promote the Beaver Dam Farms auction.

With a replacement value of between $30 to $40 million, the auction will be held on July 9th. Previously listed at $20 million, the owner has agreed to sell to the highest bidder at or above $3.5 million with all furnishings included, many of which were those passed on by Rogers.

After more than five decades of touring and entertaining the world, Kenny Rogers will begin his final world tour on May 13th in Mahnomen, Minnesota.

Rogers announced late last year on NBC’s The Today Show that this upcoming tour would be his last. “The Gambler’s Last Deal” is expected to run into 2017. Dates are still being added due to popular demand. The tour will include special guest Linda Davis for all dates, along with Charlie Worsham for select dates in Europe. Davis is a GRAMMY® Award winner whose hits include the No. 1 song, “Does He Love You” (with Reba McEntire). Nashville based singer-songwriter Worsham, who is excited to return to Europe with Rogers after a successful tour there earlier this year, is currently in the studio working on the follow up to his critically acclaimed debut, Rubberband.

“I’m excited about making one more sweep around the world,” Rogers remarked. “For more than five decades, I’ve been fortunate enough to have such wonderful, loyal audiences, and their support has meant so much. This final tour is going to be a celebration of all of my music, and I know each night will be truly special.”
