3rd Annual Tug McGraw Foundation Celebrity Sporting Clay Pro-Am Brings Out Big Names

The Tug McGraw Foundation held its 3rd Annual “Celebrity Sporting Clay Pro-Am” on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the Nashville Gun Club in Nashville, Tennessee. Sponsored by Tarver Land Development, the event raised over $153,000 to improve the lives of military service members who have been affected by Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

The Sonic Labor/Finder Team with celebrity Rhett Akins and professional Jerry Conway took first place in the competition, followed by the Tarver Land Team 1 with Tim McGraw and Josh Richmond, the Gamalier Shooting Supply Team with Storme Warren and Charlie Lowery and the Mike Fisher Team with Mike Fisher and Bobby Brooks.

A highlight of the event was attendance by 90-year old WWII veteran Henry Shaw who had just received his combat medals thanks from the help of Stand Down Nashville. Special dignitaries attending included members of the Tennessee National Guard led by Lt Col Jim Reed and veterans Shaun Meadows, Luke Van Dorston, and Allen Hill.

Other country music celebrities and song writers included Faith Hill, Brantley Gilbert, The Warren Brothers, Craig Campbell, Deano Brown, Ira Dean, Keith Anderson, Lance Miller, Kristy Lee Cook, Daryle Singletary, Matt Bailie, and the LoCash Cowboys, plus ESPN analyst John Kruk.

Professional contingent for the event included Maximum Archery’s Andy Ross, Aaron and Steve Gould of the Gould Brothers Exhibition Shooting, and Mark Weeks from the United States Army Exhibition Team.

The 23 teams consisting of four amateurs, one professional, and a music celebrity took turns at multiple target presentations simulating the unpredictability of live-quarry, each offering a variety of trajectories, angles, speeds, elevations, distances, and target sizes.

The Tug McGraw Foundation will hold its 3rd Annual “Celebrity Sporting Clay Pro-Am” on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the Nashville Gun Club in Nashville, Tennessee. Sponsored by Tarver Land Development, the event will benefit the Tug McGraw Foundation and its efforts to improve the lives of military service members who have been affected by Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

The Tug McGraw Foundation “Celebrity Sporting Clay Pro-Am” will feature an exciting lineup of celebrities from both the music and professional sporting clay communities, all vying for a chance to be crowned champions. Several of country music’s hottest stars have signed on including Brantley Gilbert, Andy Griggs, The Warren Brothers, Chris Janson, Craig Campbell, Deano Brown, Heidi Newfield, Ira Dean, Keith Anderson, Lance Miller, Kristy Lee Cook, Rhett Atkins, Colt Ford, Troy Gentry, Daryle Singletary, Matt Bailie, and the LoCash Cowboys. In addition, ESPN analyst John Kruk, Mike Fisher of the NHL Nashville Predators, and Headline Country host Storme Warren have also signed up to participate.

Heading up the professional contingent for the event are 2011 National Sporting Clays Champion Bill McGuire, Maximum Archery’s Andy Ross, Aaron and Steve Gould of the Gould Brothers Exhibition Shooting, along with Josh Richmond and Mark Weeks from the United States Army Exhibition Team.

The event will be a sporting clay competition between 20 teams consisting of four amateurs, one professional, and a music celebrity. Unlike trap or skeet, which are games of repeatable target presentations, sporting clay competitions simulates the unpredictability of live-quarry, offering a greater variety of trajectories, angles, speeds, elevations, distances, and target sizes.

The teams will make their way through the award-winning 20-station sporting clay course at the Nashville Gun Club. Following the competition there will be a lunch featuring Mickey Roos Texas BBQ and silent auction with items including wine, dining, travel and sports & music memorabilia.

Keith Anderson Celebrates Birth of Baby Boy!

Congrats to Keith Anderson who has something extra special to be thankful for this year. Keith and wife Lauren welcomed a brand spankin’ new baby boy on November 13th. Keith debuted is adorable new addition on Facebook.

I would like to introduce you to Jaxon Creed Anderson. Born Weds November 13th 2013 at 8:11 pm. Weighing 5 lbs 11 oz and 17 inches long. Mom and baby are both perfect!

Baby Jaxon will join older sibling 2 year old Crozlë J Anderson.

On Friday, September 6th, country music stars Chad Warrix and David Tolliver of Halfway to Hazard are visiting two lucky Kentucky schools to kick off their 6th annual Crockettsville Charity Concert & Trail Ride. Warrix and Tolliver, along with Kyle Jacobs and Keith Anderson, have partnered with the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and the Rob Bironas Fund as part of the Stars over Appalachia program to provide acoustic performances and deliver more than $12,000 of musical equipment to Kentucky students. This year, the Gear Up program has also come on board as a partner to help kids get ready for their futures.

Friday morning, they will visit the Center for Rural Development, 2292 U.S. 27 #300, Somerset, Ky. where 700-800 middle and high school students from Pulaski County will be treated to an acoustic performance and delivered a variety of musical instruments for the schools’ music programs.

Following their stop in Somerset, Ky., Warrix, Tolliver, Jacobs and Anderson will travel to Hyden, Ky. to share a similar visit at the Hyden School of Music Performance Center. Here, 600-700 Leslie County High School students will also enjoy performances and donations from the boys before they take off for Crockettsville, KY.

On Saturday, Sept. 7th, Crockettsville, Ky. will come alive with a star-studded lineup including Troy Gentry, Keith Anderson, Halfway to Hazard, Christian Kane, Danielle Peck, Ray Scott, Brian Nutter, Kyle Jacobs and headliner Lee Brice. SiriusXM personality and GAC-TV television host Storme Warren and Monster Energy Freestyle Motocross Team will also be on site for the festivities. The weekend closes on Sunday, Sept. 8 with a 42-mile ATV trail ride through the exciting Kentucky terrain while raising money and awareness for the Buckhorn Children & Family Services Charity.
