Jason Caddidy Will Keep it Country on July 16

Jason Cassidy

Jason Cassidy

A-Blake Records and Jason Cassidy are pleased to announce the July 16, 2013 release of Keep it Country, the second studio album from the artist whose latest single, “Blame It On Waylon,” has skyrocketed into the Top of the Texas music charts, this week jumping 4-2*. A tribute to the keepers of the traditional country sound, this new recording features the songwriting talents of Larry Bastian,Garth Brooks, Craig Wiseman, Matt Nolen, Jamey Johnson, Aaron Tippin, Kevin Fowler, and even one from the mighty Merle Haggard. With the honest and real vocal delivery that Cassidy is praised for, this collection of songs is a true blend of old-school sensibility and the sound of today’s contemporary standards.

Greg Hunt of Rosewood Studio in Tyler, Texas (Steve Holy, LeAnn Rimes), is at the helm as producer after having a hand in Cassidy’s last three successful singles, “What If,” “Ride of Your Life,” and now “Blame It On Waylon.” Cassidy penned three originals for the eleven-song album and KEEP IT COUNTRY is chock full of traditional country music inspired by the outlaws of a bygone era in country music: Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, and the late Waylon Jennings and George Jones.

“My idea for this record is to ‘keep it country.’ I want to walk the line between new country and the roots where most of our hearts still are,” stated Cassidy. “It’s time we bring back the basics of country music: heart, soul, telecasters, steel guitar, fiddle, three chords and the truth.I hope this record will be the perfect mix of old and new that the fans will enjoy.”

Supported by independent label A-Blake Records, who celebrated their first #1 hit with Cassidy’s “Honky Tonk Heaven” in 2011, Cassidy’s KEEP IT COUNTRY provides just the right amount of authenticity needed to ensure his reputation as being indisputably traditional and a fan favorite at the many honky-tonks and festivals he has played in the past year.

With the talent, acclaim, and support behind the release of KEEP IT COUNTRY and the success of its first single, Cassidy has been invited to play at the ultimate Waylon Jennings tribute event during “Waylonfest 2013” where he will share the stage with Shooter Jennings, Jason Boland & The Stragglers and Jackson Taylor. The annual event is held in Whiteface, Texas and takes place June 7 & 8.

CMTT Exclusive: 10 Quick Quirky Questions with Jason Cassidy

Jason Cassidy

When Jason Cassidy was a kid, he wanted to be a rock star (who didn’t?). But the electric guitar and lessons he got at 13 didn’t take. Country music, however, did.

Inspired by a buddy who could name every country tune as soon as it came on the radio, the competitive Cassidy started listening.

“I totally fell in love with country music and learned every song I could,” he recalls. “Before long, I was the one who was calling out all the songs.”

Jason has recently released his debut album, MY REDEMPTION, on Houston-based A-Blake Records. His single, ““Honky Tonk Heaven,” took the #1 spot on the charts, thanks in part to catchy lyrics, Cassidy’s vocal  delivery, and his hard work and determination.

Jason has been on the road visiting radio stations across the country and playing shows like crazy, burning it up on stage with a band that is as good as it gets.
