DJ Miller Honors Friend’s Memory With “Ink On My Skin”

DJ Miller

DJ Miller is often asked the meaning of his tattoo inked on the inside of his right arm. A.M.W. 6-6-89-10-7-06. Those three letters and dates play a vital role in the release of Miller’s special album cut, “Ink On My Skin.” The emotional ballad co-written by Miller, Charlie Black, Don Goodman and Jon Conley is being made available on iTunes this week in honor of Miller’s good friend, Adam Michael Williams, who lost his life to an easily preventable automobile accident when he was 17. Miller dealt with his grief by immediately going out and having his buddy’s initials inked on his skin as a way to keep him close.

“I am privileged to have this opportunity to share this song in Adam’s honor,” says DJ Miller. “He was a great friend who lost his life way too early in a car accident. I’m on a mission to make all young driver’s realize that they are only human and can die or be seriously injured in a split second due to the choices they make whether it’s speeding, choosing not to wear a seatbelt or texting. Hopefully by sharing my very personal experience others will stop and think before getting behind the wheel. It may sound trite, but if we can save the life of one young driver through the words of this song, Adam’s legacy will live on in a very positive light.”

“Ink On My Skin” will be included on Miller’s forthcoming debut album due out later this year. Through the personal message of “Ink On My Skin,” Miller hopes to make all young driver’s aware of their own mortality and the responsibilities that come with being behind the wheel.

DJ Miller’s “Between Sundays” Enters Billboard Chart!

DJ Miller

Last week, rising star DJ Miller’s single “Between Sundays” entered the Billboard country chart as a “Hot Shot Debut” at #58 and it was only appropriate to celebrate the milestone with some very special fans. Thursday night, Miller took a break from CRS to entertain the families at the Nashville area Ronald McDonald house, which provides a “home away from home” for families caring for critically ill children in Nashville area hospitals. Miller performed his current single, “Between Sundays,” and offered acoustic versions of “The Dance” and “Wagon Wheel.” After the performance, Miller signed autographs, posed for photos and even gave an impromptu guitar lesson to a young fan. View the video here.

DJ’s latest single, “Between Sundays,” written by Richard Alves, Reid Brannon, John Colgin and Gary Duffey, is at #58 on the Billboard country charts. The video, directed by Eric Welch (Chris LeDoux, Heidi Newfield, etc.), debuted at #6 on CMT Pure’s Top 12 Countdown. The single was also #1 on Powersource Magazine’s Inspirational Country Music Chart for the month of December. He has been on an extensive radio tour for the last year, visiting 48 states and 250+ radio stations across the country.

DJ Millers Between Sundays Stresses Christian Values and Everyday Kindness

DJ Miller has received a wealth of positive reaction to his current single, “Between Sundays,” not only from his Country fans, but also the Christian music community.

In addition to early response at GAC (Great American Country), The Country Network and landing the most successful video premiere to date at, Miller’s “Between Sundays” video has also received placement on GMC (Gospel Music Channel), Sunday’s Kind of Country and GAC’s “Positively GAC” program, among other destinations.

Miller believes the song’s earnest lyrics connect with both Country and Christian audiences because “Between Sundays” underscores the importance of helping out others through simple acts of everyday kindness.

“It’s kind of like walking the walk and not just talking the talk,” says the 21-year-old Indiana native. “I believe it’s important to go to church every Sunday, but I think what’s even more important is what you do those other six days of the week. Like the lyric says, the measure of a man can best be found between Sundays. The message is really about remembering to care for each other, and that’s what drew me toward releasing this song as a single. I’m just thrilled it’s kind of crossing over to other audiences besides Country.”

Miller’s “Between Sundays” music video was shot by award-winning Broken Poet Productions director Eric Welch, who has directed projects for a wide spectrum of Christian and Country artists, including TobyMac, Jars of Clay, dc Talk, Randy Houser, Jamey Johnson, Jewel and Little Big Town, among others.

“Between Sundays” is Miller’s first music video. The single jumped last week to No. 41 on Billboard’s Country Indicator chart as the young singer continues to travel across the U.S. visiting radio stations on his national Country radio tour. Miller’s debut album is due out later this year.
