Continuing to spread the message of her positive, uplifting single, “Impossible Dreams,” country music singer-songwriter Danielle Peck is set to perform at Give an Hour™’s benefit concert. The concert, titled “A Celebration of Service: Honoring Our Military Men and Women and Those Who Serve Them” will take place at B.B. King Blues Club in Times Square, New York, on June 2, 2013.

In addition to Danielle, the night will feature performances by Little Big Band, featuring Mark Rivera, long-time member of The Billy Joel Band and Ringo Starr’s Music Director and American Idol Winner Kris Allen. Additional performers include: actress, singer and social activist Gloria Reuben; up-and-coming indie rock band The Secret State, which counts three veterans among its band members; and alternative funk rock musician, The 9th. Give an Hour™ (www.giveanhour.org | facebook/GiveAnHour | twitter: @GiveAnHour), is a national nonprofit organization providing mental health services at no cost to members of the military, veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan, their loved ones, and their communities.

As she readies the release of her new album How Freedom Feels, Danielle has taken a moment to recognize the good work of a woman with big dreams. In association with Country Weekly, the “Impossible Dreams” contest – named for Peck’s current single – has honored winner Lori Byrd for her essay, “Living Without Krista.” A remembrance of her 23-year-old daughter who died of a heroin overdose, the piece was chosen as the contest winner by Country Weekly readers. The single, “Impossible Dreams,” celebrates those who “get up every time they knock you down;” and the video is in rotation on CMT.com, GAC, TCN, Vevo and YouTube. It is also a regular on CMT Pure and on the network’s “12 Pack of the Week.”

Peck, who is building on her prior chart successes including “I Don’t,” “Findin’ A Good Man” and “Isn’t That Everything,” recently performed at NSAI’s Annual Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival at Nashville’s famed Bluebird Café and on FOX’s Tennessee Mornings. She headlined the first night at the Cooper Tire stage at THE ACM EXPERIENCE in Las Vegas at the Orleans Hotel & Casino – an event that coincided with the national broadcast of the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. Next month she will make appearances at the 2013 CMA Music Festival, including a performance at The Hard Rock Outdoor Entertainment stage, and the 2013 CMT Music Awards in Nashville.

Luke Bryan Hosts the ACM and Cabela’s Outdoor Archery Event

The ACM Experience offered fans many fun and unique opportunities. One of these events was the ACM & Cabela’s Great Outdoors Archery Event that was co-hosted by fan favorite Luke Bryan. Saturday, April 6th, country artists, TV personalities, and military personnel gathered at the Orleans in Vegas to try their hand at shooting a bow and arrow.

Some famous friends joined Luke and showed up for a little friendly competition. Jason Aldean, Easton Corbin, Chris Janson, Dustin Lynch, Justin Moore, Kix Brooks, Thomas Rhett, Jon Pardi, Danielle Peck, Angie Johnson, and A&E’s “Duck Dynasty” stars Willie Robertson and Jep Robertson all came out to show their skills and give fans a good time. As the artists started rolling in they began warming up, or for some, started learning how to use a bow and arrow for the first time. Many of the artists are avid hunters therefore they were sizing up their competition and doing a little friendly trash talking.

Luke Bryan warmed up by aiming his arrows at a picture of his ACM Awards co-host Blake Shelton giving the crowd a good laugh. As the competition got underway the artists got teamed up and took turns going to the various stations. The archery exhibit featured 3D and traditional targets for the participants to try. Well known radio DJ, “Cornbread” helped keep the crowd energized. Every time Jason Aldean was up to shoot the DJ had the crowd yell “Joe, Joe, Joe Diffie” from Jason’s current hit “1994.”

When the competition was over the artists posed for pictures and expressed how much they enjoyed Cabela’s state of the art archery equipment. Many of the celebrities including Luke and Jason stayed for a while signing autographs and taking pictures with the fans that had cheered them on.
