Continuing to spread the message of her positive, uplifting single, “Impossible Dreams,” country music singer-songwriter Danielle Peck is set to perform at Give an Hour™’s benefit concert. The concert, titled “A Celebration of Service: Honoring Our Military Men and Women and Those Who Serve Them” will take place at B.B. King Blues Club in Times Square, New York, on June 2, 2013.
In addition to Danielle, the night will feature performances by Little Big Band, featuring Mark Rivera, long-time member of The Billy Joel Band and Ringo Starr’s Music Director and American Idol Winner Kris Allen. Additional performers include: actress, singer and social activist Gloria Reuben; up-and-coming indie rock band The Secret State, which counts three veterans among its band members; and alternative funk rock musician, The 9th. Give an Hour™ (www.giveanhour.org | facebook/GiveAnHour | twitter: @GiveAnHour), is a national nonprofit organization providing mental health services at no cost to members of the military, veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan, their loved ones, and their communities.
As she readies the release of her new album How Freedom Feels, Danielle has taken a moment to recognize the good work of a woman with big dreams. In association with Country Weekly, the “Impossible Dreams” contest – named for Peck’s current single – has honored winner Lori Byrd for her essay, “Living Without Krista.” A remembrance of her 23-year-old daughter who died of a heroin overdose, the piece was chosen as the contest winner by Country Weekly readers. The single, “Impossible Dreams,” celebrates those who “get up every time they knock you down;” and the video is in rotation on CMT.com, GAC, TCN, Vevo and YouTube. It is also a regular on CMT Pure and on the network’s “12 Pack of the Week.”
Peck, who is building on her prior chart successes including “I Don’t,” “Findin’ A Good Man” and “Isn’t That Everything,” recently performed at NSAI’s Annual Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival at Nashville’s famed Bluebird Café and on FOX’s Tennessee Mornings. She headlined the first night at the Cooper Tire stage at THE ACM EXPERIENCE in Las Vegas at the Orleans Hotel & Casino – an event that coincided with the national broadcast of the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. Next month she will make appearances at the 2013 CMA Music Festival, including a performance at The Hard Rock Outdoor Entertainment stage, and the 2013 CMT Music Awards in Nashville.
