As part of the Opry’s 90th Anniversary Celebration, the Opry is celebrating country’s heart throughout the year, bringing its biggest stars and loyal fans together to support nine important causes over the course of nine months in an initiative called “Cause For Applause.”  May at the Opry is a month-long celebration of U.S. troops and their families in partnership with the USO and MusiCorps. A percentage of the proceeds from May Opry ticket sales goes to the cause when fans mention the code “SALUTE.”

In celebration of the cause, the Opry recently unveiled a new “Salute The Troops” tee collection from the Selma Drye by Kellie Pickler line, the Opry’s first artist-curated collection. A percentage of the sales from the collection will also be donated to the cause. Pickler signed tees in The Opry Shop after her Opry performance last night.

The MusiCorps Wounded Warrior Band’s Opry appearance was made possible by Humana, presenting sponsor of the Grand Ole Opry. Fans can visit opry.com/causeforapplause to learn more about the May cause partnership and additional causes to be announced throughout the year.

The Opry’s 90th Anniversary Celebration continues throughout 2015. Upcoming artist appearances include Hunter Hayes, Alison Krauss, Little Big Town, Scotty McCreery, Oak Ridge Boys, Charley Pride, Rascal Flatts, and Carrie Underwood, among many others.
