Carrie Underwood Makes Final Cut for Billboard’s Milestone Award

Billboard announced today that Carrie Underwood, Ellie Goulding and OneRepublic are the top three finalists for the Milestone Award presented by Chevrolet at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 18th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV and broadcast LIVE on ABC at 8pm ET. Fan voting for the three finalists will continue online with the winner being announced during this year’s broadcast.

This is the second year that this editorial award will go to an innovative artist who achieved a notable chart milestone in the past year. In addition to the three finalists, the other nominees for the 2014 Milestone Award presented by Chevrolet included Imagine Dragons, John Legend, and Luke Bryan.

Voting for the three finalists is now open on Billboard.com/milestone. Voting will continue through the first two hours of the live Billboard Music Awards telecast, closing at 10pm ET / 9pm CT. The 2014 Milestone Award will be announced toward the end of the show and presented to the winner by superstar artist, Kelly Rowland. Tune in for the announcement of a special sweepstakes during the show.

“The Milestone Award presented by Chevrolet is a 100% fan voted category putting the final selection process in the hands of the music fans themselves,” said Larry Klein, producer of the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. “Carrie Underwood, Ellie Goulding and OneRepublic have made a tremendous impact on music over the past year making it an exciting race completely determined by the fans voting right up through the first two hours of the live broadcast.”

The 2014 Billboard Music Awards will broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 18th at 8pm ET on ABC. See all the nominees here.

Country Music Women Help Honor Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Linda Ronstadt

Six-time Grammy winner Carrie Underwood performed last week during the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s induction ceremony as part of an all-star cast honoring Linda Ronstadt.  Carrie performed solo and alongside Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Nicks, Emmylou Harris, and Sheryl Crow on some of Ronstadt’s biggest hits including “Different Drum,” “Blue Bayou,” “You’re No Good,” “It’s So Easy,” and “When Will I Be Loved.”

This year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees included Peter Gabriel, Hall & Oates, KISS, Nirvana, Linda Ronstadt, Cat Stevens, the E Street Band, Brian Epstein and Andrew Loog Oldham.

The event was held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York and will premiere on HBO on Saturday, May 31 at 9pm ET/PT.

Carrie Underwood, Emmylou Harris and Sheryl Crow to Pay Tribute to Linda Ronstadt

Carrie Underwood, Emmylou Harris and Sheryl Crow are among the performers who will pay tribute to Linda Ronstadt April 10 in Brooklyn as she’s inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

Peter Gabriel, Hall And Oates, KISS, Nirvana, Cat Stevens, Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham, Beatles manager Brian Epstein and Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band will also be inducted.

The 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductions will be held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Thursday, April 10 and premiere on HBO on Saturday, May 31 at 9pm ET/PT.
